A Sushi Experience Worth Every Bite! After searching for the best sushi spot, Google led us to Osaka Hibachi & Sushi, boasting an impressive 4.9-star rating—and let me tell you, it absolutely lived up to the hype! We came to celebrate our daughter's 8th birthday, and she had one request: steak and salmon nigiri (we've proudly raised her to appreciate great food beyond just cheese pizza and chicken nuggets!). From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was clean, cozy, and intimate—a little on the cooler side, but nothing that took away from the experience. The miso soup and onion soup kicked things off beautifully, both flavorful and comforting. We ordered the kids’ steak meal, and wow—the steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and downright heavenly. Paired with fried rice that was well above average, it set the tone for the rest of the meal. Then came the salmon nigiri, and it was nothing short of perfection—buttery, fresh, and elegantly plated. Our birthday girl was in sushi heaven! We also tried the Bad Daddy Roll and Angry Wife Roll, both delivering an exceptional balance of flavor and texture, with just the right amount of crunch and spice. Yes, the prices were a bit higher than expected, but the quality, quantity, and presentation made it worth every penny. And to top it all off? Deep-fried ice cream for the birthday girl—because every great meal deserves a sweet, crispy, and creamy ending! Without a doubt, Osaka Hibachi & Sushi has officially become our new favorite sushi spot. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their incredible menu. If you're looking for a top-tier sushi experience, do yourself a favor and give them a try! On our server was amazing! Friendly and thoughtful and patient with us and the kids.

Overall, this restaurant offers decent value for its price. When I look for a place to eat, I always check the nationality of the owner or chef—not due to any biases, but simply because, if I'm paying for a meal, I'd prefer it to be delicious. This Japanese restaurant has a Mexican chef and an Indonesian owner, and it's a place I would generally recommend to a broad audience. However, for those who are deeply passionate about nigiri or have extensive knowledge about it, I would suggest trying other menu items instead. The reasons, of course, are relative to the price point, but here are a few: There are no white-fleshed fish options. The rice was missing proper vinegar seasoning, causing the grains to clump together. The fish is cut without considering its freshness and grain, leading to tearing rather than clean slices. The ratio of fish thickness to rice volume is off, affecting the harmony of the dish. That said, I had a pleasant dining experience, particularly thanks to Ada, the friendly and attentive staff member, whose youthful energy added to the enjoyment. We all had fun discovering that her name has different meanings in Indonesian, Korean, and Japanese. The miso soup, Japanese-style salad, available as options in the lunch special and Gyoza were excellently prepared and fresh.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “On a whim, my husband and I stopped in at Osaka Hibachi & Sushi in the mall in Salem — and honestly, the moment that first bite hit my tongue, I felt like I was back in Osaka. The sushi was that fresh, beautifully prepared, and thoughtfully plated. We ordered the Osaka Roll, the Bad Daddy Roll, salmon nigiri, white tuna sushi, and some hot tea. Every bite was perfectly balanced — the rolls were generous without being sloppy, the sauces added just the right touch, and the rice was spot-on. The sushi chef behind the bar was wonderful to watch — calm, focused, and you could tell he truly cares about every piece he makes. The presentation alone was stunning, but the flavors were what really made it unforgettable. The whole atmosphere at Osaka Hibachi & Sushi was relaxed and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and you could feel how much pride they take in what they serve. This little hidden gem made me feel like I was back in Japan — and that’s not something I say lightly. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, fresh sushi with real heart behind it. We’ll definitely be back — and we’ll be telling everyone about it too!” 🍣✨🇯🇵
