Ok, let me say that I have been to this place a number of times since it is usually on my way to where I work out. I would have probably rated this a 2 star a year ago but since they have gotten new store management, things are certainly better. First off, if you are selling something high value, you are not going to get a lot. Pawn shops typically pay no more than 25% of retail and that is if it is a high demand item, sometimes way less. You are better off selling on Craigslist or eBay even with their fees. If you are trying to get a loan, think long and hard because you will be paying interest on that loan and it is based on collateral. Be that as it may, I would say that their assessments are very fair. Keep in mind that they can't sell at retail prices and in many cases, items they buy may not be in pristine condition. Also, take into account that older items for the most part depreciate over time. If you are a buyer, this is where knowing what you are looking for and being knowledgeable about said item works to your advantage. For example, I literally picked up a nice vacuum used for cleaning computer equipment in a clean room for $5 instead of $100. Always, inspect the item you want and ask questions! Please realize that most sales are final or as is. The sales person will offer an extra warranty for a price depending on the item price. Technically, they are supposed to check and test everything they purchase but in many cases, it might be nothing more than turning it on and off. Research what you need and definitely bring your smartphone so you can double check pricing (look for used or refurbished pricing), not new. Finally, don't be afraid to negotiate and ask if you can get a lower price. The staff is very friendly but if they are short staff or busy, try to be patient. There are real bargains here. I should know. If parking is full, park in the Safeway...
Read moreBought a basic DVD player. $24. "Do you want the 24 day warranty?" "It's a DVD player. It either works or it doesn't. Did you test it?" "Yes, we plug them all in and make sure they play movies on the monitor in the back." "Ok, I'll risk it." Plugged it in, it works, but the remote that was bundled with it was for a TV only. I'd noticed that at the time but alot of TV remotes will also serve their video counterparts. But this remote will not. When I called them to see if they had the correct remote they said bring it down and they could check for an additional remote. I said ,"Do you have any Samsung remotes for DVD?" They said they did not but they did have another DVD player for $40. I asked if I brought mine back with the receipt would they apply it towards the player that actually had a remote. "No. Not without the 14 day warranty purchase." Does selling a product with the wrong remote constitute a warranty issue? Or is it just poor service. I'm landing on poor service. Warning, buy the "warranty" or you are gambling because they will not honor basic business practices. Good luck. And WHY do you need my ID and address if I'm...
Read moreThe person who helped me I believe was the manager and they were super helpful and friendly. I was very surprised at the options they offered and especially because of my situation which was it was the due date of my ticket and I could not find my ticket. They only charged me $5 extra and it was rewritten and I was out of there in 5 minutes! Seriously better experience than many I have had over the years! And the manager was very helpful and very easy on the eyes as well so I can easily give 5 stars ! Oh and the other employees on that shift were all very welcoming and made a point to acknowledge and welcome me at several different times in the brief time I was there. Thanks to everyone who was...
