I regret having to provide a one-star review, but I feel compelled to address my recent experience with Seatown Sweets. I ordered custom cookies and cake pops to enhance the dessert offerings for a graduation party. While I picked up the cookies at the scheduled time, I discovered that all of the frosting had transferred into the packaging, compromising their presentation altogether and some of the cookies were even falling apart. The packaging was inadequate, especially considering the luxury price associated with custom cookies and cake pops. This experience resulted in a complete waste of resources, and unfortunately, the owner did not offer any refund or even a partial refund. I will not consider placing another order in the future, and I cannot recommend this bakery. 😓
Instead, I ended up giving away "The Cookie" from Metropolitan Market 🍪 to each guest, which actually turned out to be a big hit and super affordable. I got some cute bags and put them in the bag with a sticker closure and they were perfect which Met Market provided to me for free.
I feel the need to add to my review because I believe the owner is quite dishonest and untrustworthy. I provided the owner with many photographs via email (more than what I posted on Google reviews) and kindly requested a partial refund—not even a full one—but my emails were ignored. The owner never got back to me and did not issue a refund even though she requested photographs from me.
I've noticed that since receiving several one-star and two-star reviews, they have begun asking customers who walk in to provide five-star reviews to improve their image.
When you invest so much time, energy, and money into creating something special for your party, you expect a bakery to deliver something equally special. Honestly, I could have made cookies with an 8 yr old that would turn out better than what I ordered from this bake shop. There are many other bakeries to choose from in the Seattle Metro area. The cookies from Metropolitan Market were a huge hit and no one even cared about the cookies from Seatown Sweets (as I said earlier the presentation was completely compromised so it wasn't that enticing to lay out busted up cookies on a tray). It's mind-boggling that the owner would act in such an unprincipled manner. If the owner reaches out by phone or email and provides a partial refund or a full refund for my order, I will definitely update my review and increase my star rating. Until then, I ask that you not support a bakery that doesn't know how to problem solve in an ethical and...
Read moreI'd give this 0 star if I could. I'm not one of those customers who writes unfair and baseless reviews. I believe in supporting small and local businesses as long as consumer rights are protected and reasonable quality of service is provided. We had a very disappointing experience from the order time to cutting and tasting the cake. We ordered one of the “Signature 2-tier Vanilla Raspberry, Elaborated Style” cakes for our wedding event. We sent them the picture of the exact cake of their website and requested to have the same exact style, decorated with flowers as displayed on their website. After we made the payment, we were reached by the owner that the cake comes plain and that “we are not a flower shop”!!! (Of course we know you are not a flower shop) and they if we want the same decore we should get it from the floral store next door! But that wasn't the issue. The problem was that the cake wasn't edible. It was probably prepared days before and was not fresh at all. It was quite dry and old and plain in flavor with only a bland layer of jam in the middle. It was so dry that we could hardly cut the cake and the only thing you could taste was an extreme sweetness. As you can see in the pictures, no one could eat it, and we ended up throwing it straight in the garbage. This was a complete let down and ruined our celebration as we were realy looking forward to tasting our wedding cake. I’m sharing this to inform others not to rely on the reviews and definitely get a tasting before ordering...
Read moreHands down, Kayla’s cake was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was such a hit that most people went back for seconds and by the end of the night there was nothing left. We already have plans to book her to make another cake for our first anniversary! Right from the start we were very impressed by Kayla. We met her at Weddings in Woodinville a few months before our event. The fun display she had set up caught our eye, and the samples she was giving out were mouthwatering. We booked her for a formal tasting and headed to her place not long after. Kayla welcomed us into her home where she had a wonderful spread of everything she offered. We sat at the table with the various samples of mix-and-match cakes, creams, frostings, cookies, and cupcakes she prepared for us, along with a nice glass of bubbly. We sampled everything at our leisure, never once feeling rushed or pressured and decided on our two flavors. Due to the special cake stand we were making Kayla had some very helpful hints on how to make our vision come to reality without the cake toppling over with the slightest hint of wind. It was perfect. She delivered the cake on the day-of and even set up the display for us along with the flowers brought for from the florist. Her enthusiasm and commitment shone through until the end. We can’t wait to taste her cakes...
