I would simply recommend going to a different store. We had a bad experience from start to finish, with no remorse or attempts at correcting their errors from management.
We went in on August 9 for a black suit for a business event in NYC for August 21. The employee sized my fiance for pants 3 sizes bigger and a suit one size bigger than his normal. They of course did not have the correct size or color in store, it had to be ordered. We were told the suit would be in, and tailored, ready for the flight. The suit was in. The tailoring did not get done. Additionally, the employees insisted on sizing completely different from normal sizing, which resulted in a suit that was too large all around. When we brought the suit back in to be fixed, the manager simply told us we were āwrongā and the store ānever would have made those promisesā in regards to when the suit would be ready. They then charged us another $175 in the alterations to correct the sizing of the suit. We should have been more stern on sizing when fitted, but supposedly these guys know what they are doing. To add insult to injury, the suit jacket now has wrinkling because the fabrics were tailored improperly, the top layer of fabric and backing fabrics are not lined up well. So now we have a black suit that cost well over $500 that looks like crap.
In between these issues, we made a grave error and decided to get custom suits for our bridal party there. When discussing this, we were told $420. When coming back later to order, it was $470. Annoying, but whatever. After ordering all the suits, we got the run around with being told the suit was ready, then coming in and it not being ready. One of our groomsmen had the exact same dilemma. We were also quoted one time frame, with ordering and alterations taking longer. Our wedding is next week, and one of our groomsmen still hasnāt gotten his suit in for the final fitting. All of our groomsmen who have gone to THIS particular Jos A Bank have had poor customer service. Our groomsmen who went to other ones in metro ATL got their suits before the groom got his.
Overall, we are very frustrated by a lot of things. Over promising and under delivering. Management not simply saying āsorry we messed upā and instead blaming us. And lack of quality control with the quality of suits/tailoring/arrival of ordered garments. The custom suit does look good and fits good. That is definitely worth the price. And my fiancĆ© did have a very good experience with the female...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store's manager Miles Revels is rude, pompous, and unethical. I came in to get a suit for my son's prom. He was dismissive when I asked about purchasing a suit instead of renting a tux. When I pointed out we didn't need the shoes that come in the rental package because we own appropriate shoes, he snippily stated "Well not getting them will only save you $10". Excuse me sir? It isn't about the cost to rent shoes, it is about the fact I don't NEED them and would rather my son not wear shoes worn by others. He then tried to tell me the coupon I had probably wouldn't work on the package we rented without even checking it. While waiting I had the pleasure of overhearing him with another couple there to buy a suit for an event in May. She wanted to come back when they weren't so busy. Miles kept pushing them to complete their purchase that day because "the sale ends today". When the wife asked why a sale named for a Monday holiday ended so early he said "I don't know, but it ends today." He didn't back down until she pointed out the signs in the window stating the sale went thru Monday stating "Oh they must have extended it." I wasn't happy with our experience but had done my homework so we paid (and used the coupon he said wouldn't work) and left. After much deliberation we decided to cancel and get a refund. I just couldn't give my business to such unscrupulous sales associate. When I came in I had to wait for him to do the refund as only managers can do them. He stated there would be a cancellation fee. I asked how much to which he responded, "I don't know I'll have to check". Note there shouldn't be a cancellation fee as it was more than 2 weeks before the event as posted on their website and the rental contract I signed. Miles then tried to tell me it would be $40. I had had it with this guy. I pointed out to him no there shouldn't be a cancellation fee. If it was less than 2 weeks before the event then yes and only $20. But since it was more than 2 weeks no fee. He got rude and said "Show me! Where does it say that?!" So I showed him the rental contract I signed. His only response was "Oh well they change that all the time I didn't know. I'm not trying to pull a fast one on you" That's a lie if I ever heard one! He is a manger and you expect me to believe he doesn't know sales dates or the rental policy?! GO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolute worst experience that i could imagine having in the store. First of all, I went in to get fitted for a rental for a wedding. Itās blatantly obvious they donāt make commission off rentals because the guy who helped me was very dismissive and was clearly trying to get me out of the store ASAP to move on to someone he could make money on. Thatās not the part that bothered me. At the fitting and when I called in about picking up my rental I was told by one of the managers a certain price. Upon picking up and checking out, Ralph Armour the other assistant manager not only told me I couldnāt get that price but followed up by asking me if I thought I was special and more important than other guests and that I didnāt deserve that price. I was shocked at how rude and disrespectful he was. When I asked to speak to his boss he got increasingly louder and continued to ask me why I thought I was better than every other customer who walked through their doors and that I didnāt deserve the price I was quoted. Iāve never been so disrespected in a retail establishment. The store manager happened to be walking in the door during this exchange and walked to the counter. He quickly honored the price that I was quoted. At that point Ralph stormed off and made a phone call to vent about the interaction within earshot of me. Just because you're dressed professionally doesnāt make you a professional. This is the first and only negative review I have EVER written if that tells you anything. Iāve been in retail management for 10 years so I can let most things roll off my back that might bother other people.
The guys name is Ralph Armour. I would suggest you have someone else assist you if you intend on receiving any sort of professional service. ...
