My husband passed in Nov of 18 wearing his beloved Rolex. When my life settled down a bit i took the watch to TNT Chester for the band to be sized to fit me. Simple enough. A few weeks later I was told it needed a new crystal (to be performed by an out-side vendor). We always had our Rolex's serviced in Annapolis by a reputable Rolex service dealer, but since I live here I decided to take the chance. 7 weeks later, I got the watch back with the $300+ bill. As soon as i got it back, it began to fog very slightly, then the fog increased exponentially over time. I took the watch back to TNT to have it checked out. That was 4+ months ago. Since then I've been told that now mysteriously the crown is somehow broken causing the fog. That somehow I am to blame, and they are taking no responsibility for it. The vendor claims he pressure tested it before returning it but there's no way that could have been done. Not only that, the "vendor" doing the work now claims that the part is "not available", or out-of-stock or SOMETHING. This is a classic Date-Just Men's Rolex. They have literally had my watch longer than I have at this point. I've never received a call from the owner about this matter, I've only talked to the manager (who I have to keep calling). I have no idea what has happened to my watch, and I'm still waiting to get it back. At this point I've asked to have the watch returned as is. I will immediately take it to my service provider in Annapolis to have it checked thoroughly. This matter is far from over. The company in Annapolis has a long history with our watches. I fear non-Rolex approved work or parts have been used. LESSON LEARNED. With something this valuable; this important don't take chances. So sorry to post this, but truth is truth. I just wish that TNT would have just simply said that the job was above their ability. This watch is the most important thing I own. to...
Read moreI recently took my blue safire and diamond ring into TNT Jewelers to tighten a prong on one of the diamonds for the stone appeared a little loose. I asked that the 18K gold not to be removed rather tighten and the store manager reassured me it could be done. Once my ring returned and I picked it up, I noticed the entire setting had changed. It was no longer the 18K yellow gold! I asked what happened? She said they polished it and it was yellow because the polish wore off. Needless to say... my favorite ring and given to me by my husband who has passed away so a special ring. The ring was never silver or white gold. I left with the ring and noticed the polish was not coming off. I returned only to ask the manager to look at this ring and tell me what kind of material is this? She said it looks like white gold. I refreshed her memory and am currently giving them the chance to correct their mistake for they took my entire setting of 18K gold and replaced it without permission. I was told they had to order the new setting/mold for the ring and it would take a week. I received a call that it will now be another week for it is on back order. So where is my original gold setting? The manger stated that the their goldsmith does make mistakes sometime and they will correct this. I will re post with an update once my ring has been restored to the original state.
This is a follow up to the last post above. I have received my ring back which looks bran new. TNT Jewelers did a wonderful job in restoring my ring and I thank you! I agree that mistakes do happen and I am very pleased with the efforts they went through to correct this. Thank you again...
Read moreThievery! Went in to get a broken clasp replaced on a necklace. Couple weeks went by so I called and they said it still wasn't ready. A month later the clasp is fixed and ready for pickup. That's a ridiculous amount of time to fix a clasp without informing me. Then they charge $250! That's the most expensive you will ever pay to fix a clasp (we had clasps fixed before for a fraction of that price!) Lastly and most importantly they didn't even return the original GOLD broken clasp. They have the audacity to keep your gold even if it's a little piece (that they charge $250 for)!! I have had many pieces of jewelry fixed in my lifetime and I never had a jewelry store keep the GOLD broken jewelry that they replace. Thievery in every...
