Gamebound Video Games — Local services in Kent

Here is an honest review for a store that has potential to be so much better. First of all, I have to agree that Gamebound has great stock! True gems, and hard to find retro games. I visited 3 times over the span of a month, each time bringing local friends, siblings, and friends from out of the state. Each of my visits I found my heart beating a little faster because I found something that I had trouble finding but here's where the review begins...BUYER BEWARE.

I understand prices for retro games have skyrocketed since COVID and the need to stay relevant to stay in business BUT if a game is clearly labeled it's a safe assumption, as the customer to pay that price. Not have to wait SEVERAL minutes as you 'double check' prices only to gouge the customer double and some cases triple the price. Game bound is open 23 hours per week. Use those 17 hours, per week, you are closed and reprice your inventory not in front of your customer.

Example 1: Gamebound had several copies of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Yes I know, an extremely rare and highly collectible game but mind you they were incomplete (missing manual). One is clearly labeled $160 and the other $175. I ask the employee to retrieve out of the locked glass with the intent to purchase. I find myself waiting several minutes as the employee 'double checked' the price using his laptop. Only to be offered $220.. ya no..

Example 2: (separate visit) I find a video game action figure that is clearly labeled $12. I go to the counter to check out. My first interaction checking out is the employee not knowing he had that in-stock and jokingly saying he'd like it for his personal collection. AGAIN, I find myself waiting several minutes as he 'double checks' the price. He proclaims $40 is a fair price.. ya no..

Example 3: (separate visit) This one was a social experiment. I had bought and authentic copy of Fire Pro Wrestling 2 on Ebay for $15. I go to Gamebound as they have that game unmarked and ask to purchase it. AGAIN, I find myself waiting several minutes as the employee 'double checks' the price. He proclaims $38 is a fair price!? I explained that I bought one the day before on Ebay for $15? His only response is 'you most have bought a fake'. Now my integrity is in question?

At the end of the day I just want Gamebound to be better. Please take the time to reprice your game so you come across honest and upfront. Do it behind the scene and don't make your customers wait as you adjust the clearly labeled value. I can't continue to shop at your awesome store with your current...

This store provides an excellent atmosphere with pricing that is competitive within the local market. That's funny how I got banned from the store. They said I was harassing the people who worked there and also the customers. All I did was I returned to them and I told them about. You guys sold me a Jailbroken PS3TM slim was ok. They said oh we don't sell Jailbroken consoles. And second that was a different model really what dose that have to do with a Jailbroken PS3TM. They think I'm dumb or I don't know ok. People if they ever ask you to buy a PS3 from them just say No oh thank you. They will lie to you. And scam you.
