I've been living in Kent now for 3 years, and I have been searching for a good teriyaki place close to home. I FINALLY FOUND IT. My daughter and I were walking home and decided to check it out (it was also close to school). I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box. It took about 15-20 minutes to be ready, which I do not mind at all because that tells me they are making it fresh. Admittedly, after getting our meal, we stopped at a bakery two doors down and were there for roughly 10 minutes. THEN we finally walked home (another 10 minutes). On the way home, I mentioned to my daughter "I hope the sushi doesn't get mushy and the tempura get soggy" when I opened the bag, I discovered everything was packaged separately! The sushi was so tasty and fresh. The tempura was still crunchy and had a great variety (onion ring, broccoli, mushroom, carrot, eggplant and shrimp). The chicken was cooked perfectly, still juicy. And, the tempura dipping sauce was amazing. The salad was also delicious, and the steamed rice was perfect as well. The miso soup was good, I usually hate tofu but theirs was good.
I will definitely be going back, AND will highly...
Read moreLet me first share that the food taste and temperature was fantastic. I had the beef yakisoba and the husband had chicken teryaki. We both enjoyed the meal quite a bit. We also had gyoza as a starter and those were good but the gyoza sauce on the table was pretty bland. They do offer all kinds of gluten free dishes and many were ordered while we were there. They also offer Chinese food fare as well but unfortunately they don't have combos that include both. I was pretty disappointed by that. Not even for an extra charge. What really astounded me the most was the total cost of dinner. We ended up at almost $60.00. That's twice what we normally pay. I questioned the gal at the counter to make sure it was correct. The only other comment I'll share is that the seating area was dirty. There were black lines up the wood banquettes the seats were dirty as well. They do have an excellent rating from King County Public Health but the cleanliness of the space was a bit worrisome for me. Bottom line great food but...
Read moreI find that teriyaki around here seems to taste the same, so I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant had some menu items that were different and good. It's not too far from my house so that was also a plus. I've only been there twice, item choices were ramen and teriyaki. Pretty standard, but I figured if they could do that I would go back and try other items. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. I do have a couple of small quibbles. They will not vary from the menu. Period. The second and perhaps bigger thing is that when I want take out, I like to use my own containers so as not to use styrofoam. The containers are clean, dry, and comparable in size to the food ordered, so it wasn't like I was trying to trick them into extra food. They just flat out refused to use them. Change those things and I...
