T.J. Maxx — Local services in Kent

Overall store appearance is great, clean but customer service is horrible. I shop here a lot. I love fashion, and this is a great place to shop for excellent finds, trends at awesome prices, but poor quality in customer service from the associates and management. Today I came in to the store and wanted to use Klarna as a method of payment, they had no clue! Associates, management no one! They had never heard of Klarna, they didn’t know how to go about processing the card. My purchase was declined. Klarna for those of you who don’t know it’s a method of payment, splits any purchase into 4 “interest-free payments” online or in-store, it’s easy and very convenient. Well not here. The reason of my review today is to hopefully send a message to the company to better train their associates to take better care of their customers by obtaining better training in the many services out there. Engaging with customers, and taking the time to make that point of sale. I called the store shortly after to speak to a manger and explain the situation and express my frustration, he had never heard of Klarna either. He took my name and number and that was that! he didn’t apologize what so ever made me feel more like I was trying to rip them off. There are more ways to pay other than paper or plastic.

I will definitely have to pay by debit or cash here or take my business...

Working on a redecorating project for a senior on a limited budget landed me here (and also at 3 other discount stores in the area). We purchased two end tables, a few other decor items & I bought a “cover-up.” TJ’s prices are excellent, the store is clean & well-maintained. We had Riley for a cashier & she was the most kind & competent out of anyone we encountered during this shopping spree. AND, last but not least they have security which looked to be an off-duty police officer. I’m saddened to say if you own a retail outlet in this area you NEED security or you’re going to have a ton of shrinkage (theft) or maybe worse. (I was at another discount store & was being eye-balled heavily by a clerk & realized she thought I was insane for being there, so yeah…). You won’t get mugged in store here. 👍 They’re doing a satisfactory job, it’s a rough somewhat unpleasant area, I wouldn’t go after dark. I did have an abbreviated encounter w the manager that was borderline unpleasant but I can’t blame her, it looks to be a thankless position & I certainly wouldn’t...

Sherry the manager was so unprofessional. We walked in today trying to exchange our blender because it didn’t work. She said we can’t return it from the condition it is in. Very understandable(we tried putting food in it and it wouldn’t blend). We were upset that they couldn’t return a machine they sold to us which was broke but thats not the reason for this review. We’re leaving this review because the unprofessional manager sherry just walked away from us in the middle of us asking her what can we do about this issue.... Who does that? She treated us absolutely disgusting and left one of her employees who wasn’t able to help us deal with it.

Definitely need to find a manager who is willing to explain to the customer rather than leaving their employees there to deal with customers who needs a manager help.

On a better note: Kara was great she was very apologetic about the way we were treated and was very professional.. Thank you for checking...
