First, Candace was wonderful, excellent and hospitable if I ever experienced it. Martin, however, greeted me decently, but then it went strange from there. I was on time, with 6 items for appraisal. After inspection, he questioned my insurance company/deductible. He doubted emotional attachment to these items from an inheritance vs. their value, and from there, compromised the entire session by nitpicking on the items âmay not worth the deductible or the emotional attachment for worthâ, which is MY RESPONSIBLITY to balance. My reasons shouldnât matter. In fact, the more the attachment, the more the reason for appraisal. I wanted some tiny stones replaced; he said not worth it. Fine. Moving on. He then made comments like the verbal appraisals or confirmations on stones he was giving were not enough worth for him to do, yet he shared with me a couple of verbal appraisals that FOR ME were DEFINITELY worth it to have had in writing. They are lovely. IF IT MATTERED THAT MUCH TO ME, WHY DIDNâT I STAY TO HAVE IT DONE? NOW I HAVE NO PROOF TO SHOW ANY VALUE. : MARTIN MADE ME AND MY ITEMS SEEM LIKE A PETTY BOTHER. I guess I was lucky he even took the time with me. I guess he didnât want the business and can make his money in an easier way(?) but couldnât figure out how to nicely say it. It was like I was going to have to FIGHT for an appraisal. Is it that difficult to just be grateful for business, happy to serve someone your profession, and do your work well? Was he not well? Itâs okay to reschedule. He offered no other options for appraisal. I HAD come in to the store from an hour away, SO happy to have another thing on my list done, enjoy peace of mind, and possibly enjoy the visit, but WITHIN 10 MINUTES, I told him I was SOOOO SORRY to have WASTED ANYONEâS TIME. With his demeaning the jewelry and not really getting down to the work, I figured out FAST that he was NOT my ally, didnât want to serve me, I was just such a piece of trash, me or my items. I quickly made sure I had all my items and LEFT. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER RETURN FOR ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY A PURCHASE. By the way, his behavior was AN ANOMALY for the rest of my experiences in Kerrville and Junction. YOU ARE AWESOME BEYOND BELIEF. I went away with a horrid feeling in the pit of my stomach that took me hours to assuage, along with feeling severely disturbed about the whole thing, miffed, puzzled, disempowered. He had "hazed" me, discounted me. NO PERSON WHO WALKS THROUGH YOUR DOOR IS A NOTHING, AND SHOULD NEVER BE MADE TO FEEL THIS WAY. I expected neither red carpet nor red tape. I had a purpose to accomplish a task. YOU, when YOU the business person, owner, employer or employee, greet the public: YOU KNOW NOTHING. I had not acted entitled, or come off as a person Iâm not. At first, I was so grateful to be there and showed it. I had assumed heâd be a good person and want or be grateful for my work. That quickly changed. Nope. WRONG. I think he really looked at me and prejudged against me, like I couldnât pay or something worse. PREJUDICE IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHOâS HAD THEIR OWN BUSINESS⊠IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I WORK HARD, BEHIND THE SCENES AND THERE IS LITTLE CREDIT. Life has been work, pay or not. Always be kind. You never know anotherâs situation, personal or other. Anyone appreciates kindness. Say all the right things in the right way, you have good business. Say right and maybe wrong things in the right way, you will still have good business. But if you say wrong things in the wrong way, expect business to go wrong.* APPRAISAL IS ADVERTISED ON THEIR SITE. When I called, set an appointment where I was treated professionally by Candace, no limitations or issues were stated. Why was he so hesitant to just be good and get to work? WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT DIAMONDS BUT WE CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT EACH OTHERâS KINDNESS. My advice: Donât visit here, or ask anything from them, UNLESS YOUâRE IN GUCCI head to toe. Make sure the perfume ainât bad either. Would YOU want to be treated...
Read moreSomeone left a nasty review about their appraisal experience, so I wanted to share my experience with Diamonds of Kerrville and their team.
My first experience with their team involved helping me design the perfect engagement ring for my fiancĂ©. After multiple iterations and redesigns, which took much longer than expected, Candace and Jacob were able to quickly turn my order around in time for the proposal. As part of my purchase, I traded in some inherited jewelry. (Chains, loose stones, etc.) During the appraisal, Jacob and Martin gave me a fair price but also encouraged me to consider keep several pieces that didnât bring much dollar value and had more sentimental value. Iâm glad I listened.
Because I had such a positive experience, I brought my fiancĂ© to the store after our engagement so she could meet everyone and they could see the ring on her finger. We had a wonderful time. During the visit, we also had some jewelry appraised that my fiancĂ© inherited from out of the country. Martin did a very thorough job and we were pleasantly surprised by the estimated value of some of the pieces. We were also disappointed by the estimated value of some of the pieces, but thatâs how it goes. At the end of the day, we were well taken care of and had confidence in the appraised value of my fiancĂ©s jewelry because of Martinâs conduct and how he quickly recognized and identified some of the pieces on sight. (Coins, chain styles and the like.)
So donât let the other review lead you astray. Diamonds of Kerrville is exceptional in their quality, customer service, and their professionalism. They know their...
Read moreLove this place. Itâs family owned and they really know what theyâre doing. Took in my white gold wedding/anniversary band set to be rhodium plated. In the past I had done this through Jared jewelry in San Antonio. Diamonds did an amazing job and also told me about some issues I may need to address in the future on the ring as there is somewhere. My husband said that the set looked better than when he first bought it 15 years ago. They even told me they could make a mold of my present setting in platinum in the future and then reuse all the stones so that I wouldnât have to get it plated every six months or so had a really nice selection of fine jewelry with beautiful stones. I hardly recommend anyone looking for a good jeweler for repairs or custom work, or to buy some fine jewelry already made to check this place out. We are very lucky to have them...
