What can I say about these guys? For our anniversary my wife and I like to go deep-sea fishing. We’ve only been one other time and I was sick because the ocean was rocky but also the boat smelled of diesel fuel and wasn’t that clean. When we get on the Singing Reel 2 this could not have been further from the experience we had last time. I can’t get over how clean the boat was and how kind and personable to crew were. Captian Tony is just a generally awesome guy who you could sit and have a conversation with or a beer with and feel like you’re genuinely being listen to and Travis was spot on with the fishing. It was an evident these guys do this every day and they do it well. They knew exactly where The Fish bitting and how to get the big ones in the boat. Travis gave us plenty of pointers that helped us to get as many fishes we could legally catch that day. We ended up catching our limit on yellowtail, and even got some tuna, a 300 lb nurse shark, some of the most beautiful fish I didn’t know existed called parrot fish, an angel fish, and a unicorn filefish. There was a grouper that kept eluding us and if we had more time in the day, I know that Travis would’ve helped me get that guy.. lol.. I’m giving singing room five out of five because I can’t go any higher on the scale. They truly did exceeded my wife and I’s expectations in your hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism and when we come back to Islamorada for next trip we know exactly who we will be booking. Captain Tony and Travis showed myself and my family a wonderful morning! We caught 75-100 fish and the kids had a blast. A mix of yellowtail snappers, mangrove snappers, and numerous other “trash” species (which the kids enjoyed just the same).

The ride was short, maybe 20-25 minutes to the fishing grounds, which is excellent for small kiddos. Travis was patient with the kids despite numerous numerous missed sets and typical young kid not listening behavior. Back at the dock we heard numerous tourists complaining of not catching a solitary fish, while Travis was cleaning buckets and buckets of fish for us to take home and the kids were tossing fish guts to the Tarpon.

The boat was very large, had AC, a bathroom, and plenty of couch seating in the common area. Would absolutely book with confidence. For experienced anglers, you can tell these guys know the water and are serious sports fishermen with decades of local knowledge. If asked, for sure they could take adults to catch monsters/tuna/sailfish/etc. Awesome that they can pivot to kid fishing for snapper, for a morning only, and put a 6/7and a 10 year old on a 100...

This is our second fishing trip with Singing Reel. We love Captain Tony, he had a different firstmate that day but he was great as well. We initially wanted to Yellowtail fish on the reef, but couldn't get through the blue runners; Although we ended up landing an AMAZING 41 lb black grouper! We went on to troll and ended up catching Mahi and tuna. We will not charter with any other person. Tony will put you on fish, and make decisions that are in your best interest. We originally booked for Wednesday and the water was just too rough, so we were able to get out on Thursday. We were very grateful for him looking out for us and being honest. We laugh the entire trip, we caught fish, and had a great time. If you want a charter where you feel 100% welcome and leave as friends. This is it. We cant wait for another trip...
