Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a “$$$$” restaurant. First, I felt judged by my appearance, this was supported by our being placed at a fold out, plastic table with legs (that were nearly impossible to maneuver) at the end of their “porch”. The smell of a dumpster wafted over us occasionally. It would be, to my chagrin, the most “seasoned” experience of the dinner. They had a shop fan blowing directly onto the table which we found out, cooled your food down almost immediately… Or, the food came out lukewarm. Oh, the lobster bisque was good. But LOOK at that plate. Scuzzy. Use better dinnerware. We should’ve known that when the plates came out hotter than the food there was a problem. That is a bad sign. Not to mention how quickly the food came out. Another bad sign. The fish, which was the catch of the day, was not prepared well. My husband ordered his blackened, and I ordered mine with a lemon and caper sauce. I could not determine a difference between either. My husband’s fish was over cooked. The sweet potato mash was embarrassing. There was no flavor and they were cold. The potatoes, au gratin, which I adore, were terrible. Again, too light on seasonings, the potatoes were cut, too thick, and the sauce was too watery. Many decades ago, I can remember my grandparents taking me to a chain seafood (picture a red crustacean) restaurant . I would equivocate their food to this chain only with less flavor. The serving sizes are the hallmark of a restaurant that has to justify its prices by dishing out absurd amounts of mediocre food. Oh, and a ridiculous flower to make us feel fancy? We left most of our food at the table. No takeaways needed. All in all, I would say that they are preparing food for people who have underdeveloped palates. Also, no kid-friendly menu. Parents beware. I do not recommend.

Traveled 40 minutes to reach this modest establishment with a grand reputation. Right off the bat we received the lowest level of hospitality . We were scrambling about the entrance along two more parties who had reservations.Once seated, the guests with a reservation received water and bread baskets.A table in smaller room was assigned which we found unsuitable. While plenty of tables were not occupied( and remained as such) we had to wait 5 minutes to be relocated.Once we agreed upon a table every server that passed by avoided interaction and 15-20 minutes passed until water and later on bread were brought to the table without an explanation for the delay. The level of customer care was going downhill by the minute. This was not the fine dining experience we sought and that explains the high point fares! Management was not up to par with the reputation - they lack attention to detail , were not observant or intuitive.in anticipating a guest needs. And finally- the food. Steak came undercooked when ordered medium rare, the server had no tact in redressing a very uncomfortable situation, bisque soup was cold, escargots too greasy.. Only dessert was decent and complimentary for a special occasion. Please take your business to a place where tablecloths are tidy, you have enough light to read the menu and you don’t li the candle yourself , you can hear pleasant music and food is served promptly as well as properly. This place is not upscale or elegant by any means therefore the high point prices are unfounded . Red flag alert. Avoid.

Watched Rich Strike win 148th Kentucky Derby today! What an epic legendary achievement! The outside sports entertainment screens are very handy. The entire outside seating area is quite novel! It is right next to US1! But for some reason this works. You feel like a-lot is happening - and by the looks of the PACKED white linen, 5 star, elegant service and AMAZING steaks, lobster and orchid decorated martinis and champagnes, served both inside on white linen or outside on white linen, something really IS happening here! It’s always been the epitome of high end dining. The bar staff are elegant and accomplished! I LOVE sipping Prosecco (Josh) at the bar while reading and observing, I like to come with NO booking and ‘wait’. But I have no idea how the bar professionals keep up! More photos when I get them:)) definitely book ahead if you don’t want to sit and imbibe cocktails. And make the time and space in your budget to enjoy their best - their steaks and local spiny lobster really are worth the price! In my opinion. Now. Of course if the chef changes then - this fact may also be open for debate. As it stands. 💯 best steaks in the middle to upper Florida Keys. Congratulations to Rich Strike, Woodford Reserves, Sonny Leon and the team!! What an EPIC moment 80-1 odds!

I went on vacation with my boyfriend and we wanted to go for a nice dinner, but this was the absolute worst experience of my life. First off, the layout and atmosphere of the restaurant is terrible. It’s crowded together and feels more like a bar than a nice restaurant. The service was terrible as well, I couldn’t even tell you my waiters name because he was never at my table. It took 30 minutes for me to get a water refill and had to find my waiter to put our order in because he never came back after bread. The whole staff looks overwhelmed and stressed as the owner walks around in the way of everyone or going to his friend's tables to talk to them for 20 plus minutes. A server had trays in his hand and was trying to rush to his tables and the owner stood in the walkway and made the kid go around. I finally got my food and my steak was half cooked medium rare and the other half medium . I ordered medium more on the well side and the one half was inedible. My server asked how the food was once before we really even ate and then never came back to ask again. In the middle of dinner a women drops unconscious because she was chewing on steak and began to choke. Not a single server knew what to do and just stood around. The bartender (where the lady was choking) stared at the guest and took forever to dial 911. The owner? He was standing at a table talking to guest and didn’t even pick up his phone… An 18 year old girl had to go perform cpr on this women because not a single staff member or person in that restaurant had any type of knowledge or care. ESPECIALLY NOT THE OWNER. 3 women helped her with what she needed that were also just there to eat not workers. When the EMTs came the staff couldn’t even say what happened and the 18 year old girl had too talk to the emts. She didn’t even get to eat her food and was covered in vomit and other things so she sent back her food. The owner bought her some cheesecake as some type of compensation but that was it. The table next to them tried to pay for their bill because the owner wouldn’t and the server and owner declined and said he couldn’t let them pay for their bill because they were going to be compensated another way with waivers… They were from out of state. The other table begins to get mad and yell at the owner , and sure enough the owner was able to pick up his phone and call 911 then. This restaurant needs a change in management or something because the owner is terrible. He has no idea what’s he’s doing, half the time he looks like he’s not even sure where he’s at in that moment. Do not come to this mediocre restaurant that try’s to be high end. The food is not good and their service was the worst service I experienced across all...

We decided to spend our anniversary evening in this restaurant. We walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and asked us if we’d like to start out with a drink. I asked if there were any happy hour specials, etc. since it was early in the evening and she sort of poo pooed on me and said restaurants in the keys don’t really have happy hour and sort of tried to embarrass me for asking. Meanwhile, there are quite a few happy hours all over Islamarada. We moved on from there, ordeed a bottle of wine and she told us the dinner specials, one of which was Hogfish. I asked her how it was prepared and she said just like the shrimp Islamorada on the menu, but it’s fish instead. Well, The shrimp Islamorada is on a bed of spinach with a beure Blanc sauce. I love spinach and fish on a bed of spinach sounded great. I ordered it. She never mentioned the price which turned out to be $65. Quite expensive for a little piece of fish and should be mentioned. She also didn’t tell me it came with an arugula tomato salad on the side. Therefore, I ordered a wedge salad. I ate my wedge salad and the fish plate came. I am now with a second salad on my plate and there is zero spinach on my plate. I asked her where the spinach was and she had mentioned it was on a bed of spinach Islamorada. She told me no, apparently it’s not. No offer to make it right. She told me I could order a side of spinach, which was a huge plate of spinach and cost $12 which would now bring my dinner to $74 for the entrée. I then offered to buy a half a portion and she said no. Now I’m seriously getting Irritated. I then said can you please hand me the menu and I showed her on the menu that what she told me has a bed of spinach and she got mad and left the bar and came back with a tiny ramekin of spinach and was clearly irritated. She then mentioned to my husband that I was snippy. here I am on my anniversary sharing a very expensive dinner with my husband trying to have a good time and this bartender thought it was more important to be right than to make the customer happy by giving her what she ordered. I’m eating my entrée with my second salad! Our total bill was almost $300 and I left with a very bad taste in my mouth and lots and lots of salad! Needless to say I won’t be back unless I sit at a table and let someone wait on me that knows how to work in a high-end restaurant. This lady should go work at a crab shack because that was the level of...

We went to this restaurant based on looking for something a little bit more upscale. We got a table for three, we had our four year-old son with us, the server was named Bill, he spent 15 minutes, telling us the history of the restaurant, read out the specials and everything seemed to be going along just fine. He was pleasant and friendly, we thought we were in for an enjoyable evening. We ordered the fillet and the New York strip, both of them came out overcooked. They quickly replaced the fillet with a medium rare fillet, which was perfectly fine. My New York strip was medium well instead of medium rare this completely changes the texture and flava of the steak so I asked how long it would be for a replacement. And Bill told me it would take a long time so in order for me not to eat the steak. I did not like I asked if I could return that one, and we would just split the fillet, which actually seemed a pretty good size along with all of the side dishes we ordered. He immediately Seemed unhappy about this, whilst I was in mid flow, speaking to him, just called the manager over and explained I was not happy and I just explained to the manager that we would keep the fillet and share it and just to take back the New York strip. I asked for a plate so I could share the fillet, I sat there for 20 minutes, and that plate never came, Bill, who was obviously disgruntled at us at this time was serving tables around us, but completely ignored us and kept away from us. He came up and asked if we would like a box for the half of the fillet that was left and I explained to him that I had not eaten and that he forgot to bring a glass of wine we ordered, his response was “what can I do for you?” To which I replied well just take the check. The bottom line is that Bill and the Manager allowed us to have a bad experience and leave dissatisfied. That screams bad management and the owner needs to fix this. Instead of Bill giving a 15 minute history lesson of the restaurant, which is repeats word for word at each table, he should focus on customer service standards. The food we had was good but the awful way our situation was dealt with lost them a customer for life and a bad review. Congrats to Bill and the weak manager who literally...
