Tradewinds Shopping Center is one of those practical, all-in-one stops that makes running errands feel effortless. It’s not trying to be a destination mall; it’s a neighborhood hub that covers everyday essentials with a few pleasant surprises. The layout is straightforward, parking is easy, and the mix of stores lets you handle groceries, errands, shopping, and dining in one loop.
Publix is the heartbeat of the center and sets the tone. The store is clean, well-stocked, and efficient even during rush hours. Fresh produce, a fast-moving deli, and smooth online order pickups make it a dependable anchor. Parking flow is managed well, so quick trips don’t become chaotic. Small details—like well-placed cart returns and tidy aisles—make a big difference for repeat visitors.
At the other end, Burlington Coat Factory offers a reliable value hunt. Inventory changes frequently, but you can always find deals on home goods, seasonal decor, and family basics. It’s a practical stop for updating your wardrobe or home without stretching the budget. The aisles stay organized and checkout lines move quickly, which adds to the overall sense of efficiency.
Tradewinds shines in convenience. The AT&T store makes quick work of upgrades, repairs, and plan changes, with staff who keep things moving. The UPS Store is another everyday hero—ideal for returns, shipping, notary services, and printing when you’re in a hurry. Having both next to grocery shopping is exactly the kind of synergy that turns a plaza into a true community hub.
A well-stocked liquor store rounds out the essentials with a solid selection of wines, spirits, and mixers—perfect for last-minute hosting or dinner prep. Bealls brings its familiar Florida style with casual, coastal clothing and accessories, while the local shop D&V adds a welcome touch of individuality. It’s the kind of small, locally owned store that invites browsing and gives the center personality amid the national brands.
The Cuban restaurant is the highlight for food lovers. With hearty plates, generous portions, and warm service, it’s a rewarding stop after errands. Classic dishes like Cuban sandwiches, tostones, and roast pork make it feel homey and authentic—comfort food done right at a fair price. It elevates Tradewinds from a purely practical center to a spot you actually look forward to visiting.
Cleanliness and upkeep are consistent strengths. The parking lot is spacious and well-designed, entrances and exits are logical, and the grounds are neatly maintained. Trash bins aren’t overflowing, landscaping is tidy, and the storefronts look cared for—signs of attentive management.
If there’s any room for improvement, clearer signage for first-time visitors and a few extra pickup spots near Publix would smooth out busy times. Still, these are minor tweaks in an otherwise well-run plaza.
In all, Tradewinds Shopping Center delivers what matters most: convenience, value, and local charm. It respects your time, simplifies your errands, and keeps everything running smoothly. For everyday life, it’s a dependable go-to that turns routine stops into an easy...

Read moreTradewinds Plaza is dirty, aging, and unkempt. Yellow paint has been scraped up and peeling for years. Garbage in common areas. Mulch used to cover up terrible scrawny foliage. I can't believe that Publix or Kmart has not bargained for their customers to have a better shopping experience. Locals are actually choosing to drive to the mainland to get better prices and have a cleaner experience...in Florida City and Homestead (so they are putting Tradewinds UNDER those locations). Tradewinds looks tired, worn out, beat up and SAD. Time for people of the upper Keys to demand a higher quality shopping experience. With the cost of living so high here...it's not like we don't...
