Blu Q is an absolute must on your trip to Key West. Captain Nick and first mate Will were amazing hosts that really have a love for marine preservation and a great knowledge of the area. My only regret is I couldn’t do it at the start of the trip so I could have used all their knowledge. They were great hosts and have a lot of local knowledge. My husband and I were lucky to have a really small group that went out so we had plenty of time chatting with the two who were intelligent, interesting, funny, and had every recommendation you could want when it comes to Key West.
The light lunch was a really nice charcuterie board including dip from a local cafe. Will put together a great spread and they made sure we had everything we needed the entire trip; drinks in our hand and gave us the option to take on the activities we wanted to try out including snorkelling and kayaking.
Will was a great photographer and helped us get some great shots on the boat.
Nick even went snorkelling with us and showed us a reef shark. We also saw a manatee, barracudas, yellow tails, parrot fish, and so much colourful sea life among the gorgeous coral reef.
They didn’t use any plastics so even the water was in a reusable water bottle and ice cold. Great attention to detail when it comes to saving our oceans.
If you’re in key west don’t hesitate and book this trip. I’ll be booking it first thing next time I come...
Read moreWe enjoyed this so much that about 10 minutes after we were off the boat, we booked another trip for the following day and it was just as great the second time around. (Better snorkeling, actually, because they intentionally moved since day one wasn’t as good as it could have been) The first trip was with captain Nick, Will, and Victor and the second was Nick and Will. The boat is very comfortable and the crew make sure that everyone is comfortable on it. Little things make a difference. The fact that you are bouncing from Whitney to Robyn to Britney as a soundtrack just makes it feel good and feel like a safe space. I strongly recommend relaxing on the trampoline on the front of the catamaran. One of our friend took a full nap on the way back. Haha. Both times, we have traveled with a mixed group who mingled together and had fun. While a clothing optional cruise, if you have any nerves about that, put them away. You would never feel pressured to participate and those that do make nothing about it feel awkward. It’s just good people, comfortable vibes, and a wonderful way to be out on the water. It’s an expectation that this is part traveling back to Key West in the future for us. If you are even thinking about going, stop and just book it, even if for nothing else than to watch dreamy captain Nick pilot you around for a few hours. 😉 Full...
Read moreI would like to give a shout out to captain Smalls and first mate Will. My partner and myself went on the all male cruise today and had a great time. My partner has had a stroke and Smalls and Will were great with us they helped get him on the boat and then even helped get him in the water and gave him a noodle to help him float at the sand bar. We went on a tour in April with another company and they said that he would be able to enjoy himself which he did not he was stuck on the boat. When I called BluQ and asked they said they would be able to help him to enjoy himself and boy did he. They interacted with everyone and brought us drinks in the water so we didn’t have to swim back to the boat. Captain Smalls and first mate Will are wonderful and the owner did a great thing by bringing them on as part of the BluQ team. We can’t wait until next time because we will definitely be going again. I recommend everyone to go on a tour with them you won’t regret it. Thank you again Captain Smalls and...
