Truly, an oasis smack dab in the middle of pandemonium! This will definitely be one of the best values you have ever encountered when visiting a tourist infested habitat. I have been a Key West fan for over forty years and, lately, I felt the island has lost its luster, caving in to the demands of corporate America. Then I found this place. Key West Harbor Inn is a place to retreat to - like an island within an island. Step outside the privacy gates and you'll see what I mean. You are literally in the middle of all what Key West offers - a short walk to Mallory Square for the sunset or, in the opposite direction, Half Shell Raw Bar for a sunset dinner. Fishing, dining, drinking - it's all around you. That's not the best part, however. The best part is when you step back into the privacy gates and you are welcomed by lush, tropical landscaping (and some friendly, furry mascots) as you walk along the trail to your oversized and VERY cool (in more ways than one) room. Old-school Key West vibe with century old buildings displaying island architecture. The pool area is quaint and is usually occupied (not by kids - I love kids but not the SCREAMING kind), the water is clean and there is plenty of sunlight. The rooms are always spotless and are equipped with a King sized bed, refrigerator, ceiling fan, separate bath/shower and plenty of natural light. LOTS of Charm here. The staff is fantastic offering round the clock service, happy hour at the pool and a stocked complimentary breakfast. Parking is on the street and cars are always coming and going so, if you don't initially find a spot, wait five minutes and you'll get one. I must say, when my visit was over, I was truly sad that I had to leave. I will make it a point to return to this gem of a place as often as I can. Forget those soulless, stale, over commercialized chain hotels, choose this place as your getaway and live like the locals. You'll be...
Read moreKey West Harbor Inn is amazing! It was our fourth time visiting Key West and while planning our stay, we found Key West Harbor Inn. The grounds are amazingly beautiful, with lush tropical plantings, fountains and a beautiful pool with waterfall. The pool is salt water and tempered just right! There is always ice cold water near the pool and a very conveniently located restroom to use so you donât have to go back to your room while enjoying the outdoors. Daily breakfast and happy hours are wonderful. Always fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, bagels/toast, cereals and more. The happy hour is legit! Mixed drinks, beer, wine, seltzers and a wide assortment of chips.
Now to the staff. Such great housekeeping and maintenance staff, always greet you with a smile and a hello. They keep the place looking like a dreamland. Mango and Mojito (the onsite entertainment) are awesome! The friendliest cats weâve ever met! Make sure to spend some time with them when you visit and bring them back som treats after a long day out on island.
Kristen and Tracy are amazing. Honestly from the second you walk in they make you feel welcome and like you belong there. They go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need to make for the best stay ever. From Tracy working with us to make sure we had a place to stay when our flight was delayed a couple hours to Kristen providing some bandaids to cover some flip flop blisters, these two ladies are the best. They also host a mean happy hour!!
Our entire experience at Key West Harbor Inn far exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely return, hopefully soon, but this time weâll make sure we bring back some treats for Mango and...
Read moreWe stayed at Key West Harbor for our honeymoon, the end of October and it was a true gem! From the moment we got there, the service was phenomenal. We stayed in Cuba, which I would highly recommend because it is a separate building to the right when you come in the (locked) gate. We absolutely loved our room, it was so homey and secluded, not to mention clean. There's beautiful greenery all around the property so it feels very relaxing but as soon as you step outside the gate there's everything you could ever want to do walking distance from the Inn!! (And I mean everything) They are respectful about safety with COVID going on, and there isn't breakfast right now (besides coffee) but they have a happy hour everyday from 4:30-5:30 by the pool and my husband and I looked forward to it everyday. It was such a great way to meet people from all over, everyone is in a good mood and so friendly. The owner is highly knowledgeable about the surroundings and she frequently gave us coupons to use for boat rides and attractions. We hope to go back one day, I'm SO happy that we stayed here. If you're looking for a less commercial feel and more of a true Key West experience I would definitely choose this place, hands down. The only tricky thing I would mention is the parking, we arrived around 5pm and the parking was pretty much taken up around the whole Inn, but the next morning we got up early and moved our car right in front of the Inn because all of the tourists had gone home for the night. The owner will explain this though, and it isn't a big deal. Especially if you don't...
