Warning!!! They are NOT JIMMY BUFFETT FANS. Don't expect songs.!!! Very unfortunate visit to Schooner Wharf Bar !!! :(
To begin we arrived the place and is sefl seating as usual so we set right in front of the stage, We drove for this trip abou 8 hours to Key West the day after Jimmy Buffett passed because this was the place he started and I thought this will be the best place to pay my respects and celebrate his life and music.
This is my second chance I gave this place before my this review. My first visit about a year ago, they took soooooo long to fulfill my order that I had to finish my food in 10 minutes before I caught my transportation back to the continent. I thought that they were probably getting ready before covid, and I understood. UNFORTUNATE we came back today again because we liked the Wharf atmosphere, but it was a disaster from the beginning. As soon as we sat, Jaimie arrived very graciously and took our order. She was the only good part of this experience, and that is why I give 2 stars. After we order I asked the singers in stage if you could sing a song on Jimmy Buffett as respect and to commemorate his death and he answered " WE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT DOSEN'T PLAY" Jimmy Buffett in the island. I thought that was really out of place and sad, taking into consideration that we just passed a day ago and he brought to Key West a lot of great memories, recognition, and revenue. After that, things just got sawer. I waited 30 minutes for an order of oyster that never arrived, even though Jaimie spoke to the food manager, but probably he just doesn't care about customer service. ( second time this happens) After that we just paid our bill. But I will probably never come back here.
Ps. Every place in Key West was honoring and...
Read moreSchooner Wharf Bar + Lenzie = the perfect Key West experience If Key West had a heartbeat, it would be found at Schooner Wharf Bar — a legendary slice of paradise that’s been voted People’s Choice Best Bar since 1993 for good reason. It’s old-school Key West charm at its finest — funky, laid-back, and filled with character. Gravel under your feet, umbrellas overhead, and the kind of live music that makes your soul feel lighter — Schooner Wharf is the real deal. No pretense, just pure island magic.
And while the fresh oysters, spicy chowder, and that mojo-marinated fish sandwich are all next-level good, it’s the people — and especially Lenzie — who make this place truly unforgettable.
Lenzie isn’t just a server — she’s the soul of the place. Every time we come to Key West (40 years and counting!), she brings a spark that turns a meal into a memory. Whether she’s rocking Easter egg decorations in her hair, donning earrings for every holiday you can imagine, or just flashing that warm, familiar smile, she treats every guest like family. Her energy is infectious, her attention to detail is flawless, and she makes everyone feel like they’re exactly where they’re supposed to be — at her table.
We now start and end every trip with a visit to Schooner Wharf because of Lenzie. That should tell you everything.
So here’s my advice: go to Schooner Wharf, order a cold drink, savor some seafood done right — and ask for Lenzie. Then, when your heart is full and your belly is happy, do what I’m doing now: write a glowing TripAdvisor review, because she’s earned it.

Read moreWe visited Key West this past weekend & had a great time at Schooner's. A majority of the staff is extremely friendly & makes incredible cocktails. Unfortunately, there was one experience at the end of our trip that soured our view of the bar. We stopped in for a drink & a bartender I can only describe as egg shaped approached us, but just stared at us without asking what we wanted. After a very awkward 10-15 seconds he said "so are you going to order??" We gave our drink orders & what he gave us was not what we had been given all weekend. It tasted like he left out the alcohol & gave us sickeningly sweet drinks (we had ordered the same thing multiple times throughout the weekend & didn't have this issue). The bartender asked if we wanted to open a tab or close out, & we closed out. My partner put his card down on the bar (admittedly rougher than normal, but nothing ridiculous) to pay & the bartender said "that was aggressive" 2-3 times as if he wanted to antagonize us & start a fight. My partner told him that he made a shitty drink & we just wanted to pay & leave, & the bartender rolled his eyes. Outside of this scenario I had nothing but wholesome interactions with everyone on staff & I loved everyone else at the bar, I hate that this one incompetent bartender cost everyone else working tonight some money. We would have stayed for at least a few more drinks if we weren't being...
