Very neat store with a vast variety of items. They have unique collectables, lots of trinkets, tea pots, cups, mugs and figurines. Also have a ton of clothes, books, movies, cds. They have a really neat collection of cookie jars (not for sale but fun to look at). They had lots of precious moments figurines ($6-$10) and cherished teddies ($4-8). They have a large selection.of nice necklaces and bracelets. Very nice person that rang us up.

THRIFTERS HEAVEN! This place is very well organized and offers a generous variety of items to include clothing, shoes, purses, glassware, dinnerware books, artwork, jewelry, perfume, and the largest display of exotic cookie jars I have ever seen! They sit in a small hole in the wall strip mall and it’s easy to overlook them. It is worth the trip however. Truly a fun place to visit especially if it’s too hot for the beach.

The Outer Banks certainly has its share of thrift shops and this is one of them, but I would say that this shop, A Penny Saved, is a cut above most of the other charity-run and benefiting thrift shops. I would go as far as to say that it could be called an antique shop as we saw quite a number of choice collectibles and antique items.
