I am a local buisness owner who decided to trade my truck in locally instead of going to the place I used to work selling trucks. The sales guy kevin and the fiance manager went way above and beyond to accommodate however Tom in service was nasty today and every time I have talked to him speaking down to me like I'm a idiot because I ask for stock new tires and rims back that I paid for and because he failed to line up my new tires after putting them on working at a dealership myself for years I thought it was common knowledge to always line up a new tire install because of course you don't want your tires eaten off due to faulty installwhen I called in to question the vibration and spoke about the cupping of my passenger front new tire I was rudely put down. And lied too and blamed for it not being done also I never got my second key fab on purchase day or on service day my 2022 truck as I was told I would and then told my extended service plan would not cover fuel filter changes which are 450 each time and only a little toward my oil changes several times I tried to get my truck back in to get it lined up but do to needing my work truck it was difficult and I could not get a loaner car for rent or to drive to work and pick up truck when done as I was told when I called to complain.aboutt not getting my tires back and the faulty tire install no rentals available and today I called in after taking my truck some where else for oilchange service and line up that was a much better deal and more kind to me Mr Tom service manager yelled at me an at me and said my old tires were outside and probably gone since I had not picked them up when indeed Noone told me they were outside after I on recorded line called several times and ask the lady who answered the phone if I could pick them up so after this deal and still no key fab as promised I won't be going back to obx dodge and spending 78 thousand dollars ever again and I would not recommend any one uses ther over priced dishonest service dept being so Tom does not appreciate his customers and does not honor the customer is always right modo and succeeds each time I talk to him to be sure to talk me down and make me feel like a worthless peasant even after I tell him please sir I don't want to argue Noone informed me my original good tires were put out by the garbage bin instead in my truck bed where they belonged when they were taken off as I was an am the owner of those tires 78 thousand dollars later the owner of dealership got his money so yeah no obligation to address Tom's attitude and why he did not line up my tires at install and now i have to replace the passenger tire due to neglected customer service and faulty timing in even trying to address original complaint of service not performed as it should have been im a women i even know you always line up tires when rotated or newly installed and I surely.told rep that my next call is to dodge them selves to file.complaint and then the better buismess bureau as I am a member with them as well and they need to know how obx dodge treats local buisness owners so ito can be apploed to ther bbb profile sad do t know what I did so wrong ftodeserve to be treated so bad...
Read moreIt's taken me a couple of months to get around to writing this review, but here it is now....So I decided to give my hubby a car for Christmas. I knew he wanted a Jeep, so I went late one afternoon to look around the parking lot. Cory Piddington saw me in the parking lot skulking around, and I told him what I wanted and my price range. I followed up with him a few days later, and we continued our search through emails back and forth.
Just as I was planning to come in for a test drive of the two cars he'd found that met my needs, I had a major "malfunction" in my bank account which led me to believe that I wouldn't be able to afford to buy a Jeep. But I knew if I just sent an email or made a phone call to Cory to tell him, he'd think I'd just found a better offer, and I knew I owed him a face to face explanation. So I drove in, told him the bad news, and he said, "Well, let's see what we can do." In fairness, in the back of my mind, I had held out the possibility that something could be worked out, and I had one unused credit card with me and had done my research on the two cars that were available.
So I took a test drive, and then showed Cory the price I'd located online for the car I'd test driven, which was about a thousand dollars less than the dealership's advertised price. We had a bit of back and forth about that price, and I suppose I could have played hardball and said, "I don't want to pay any more than this advertised price, and in fact, I should pay a little less," but honestly, I was so pleased that something looked like it could be worked out that I agreed to pay $600 less than what KDH was offering but $400 more than the advertised price online. MORAL: Do your homework and due diligence before you go in!
The paperwork was fairly easy to complete, and the business manager was nice enough, although he kept trying to get me to buy additional insurance coverage that I didn't really need. I just kept saying, "Nope" (because I knew exactly what payment I could afford), and I finally got the price down to the monthly payment I knew I could afford.
The dealership was nice enough to keep the car for me for about a week, while I figured out a cover story to get it to a neighbor's house. I then worked out another story to get it to my house on Christmas Day! Hubby was super surprised (he'd always said I could never keep a secret, but now he's changed his mind!), and very happy. One of the fog lamps failed almost immediately, and we bought a new one, which the dealership installed one afternoon while we ran an errand or two.
Overall, there were a few tiny rough spots in the process, but the bottom line is that this dealership was responsive to my needs and concerns, did not use hardball negotiating tactics, and seemed pretty genuinely friendly and caring. If you're in the market for a Jeep, I'd recommend them...but do...
Read moreUpdate 6/13/24 - we gave this dealer a chance to fix a horrible experience with the plans to purchase a brand new Jeep wrangler from them and they turned us away stating “we may be better suited for another dealership”.
We purchased a certified used 2019 jeep wrangler from this dealership. We love the vehicle and Cory was a great salesman. When we first drove the vehicle, we smelled a burning type of smell which they told us it had new brakes that’s what we were smelling. Made sense as brakes do have to cure. (I recently found out the back brakes were completely worn down and had to replace them, so this was a complete lie!) A few weeks after we took the car home it started making a grinding noise. I took the car to their repair shop. The repair shop at the dealership is an absolute joke. Cory still helped us through this process. They left my vehicle on the lot unlocked, their service guys were extremely rude and acted like they did not want to do anything for us… I texted Cory that night to let him know how unpleasant my experience was and he got really upset saying this is a constant battle with their service department and he is tired of it, needed a career change and he was going to walk off the pier. Worried about him, I called the owner of the dealership after finding his information online. This was around 8pm at night. The owner did not seem to care but said he would contact him. The owner had no remorse for my situation with his service department. The next day, I told the service department what had happened and the guy started screaming at us and stormed out to go confront Cory. At this point I demanded my keys back to take my car somewhere without the drama. In addition to all of this, this dealership refused to cover the cost of repairing the damage on a certified used vehicle, I even purchased an extended warranty. Turns out it was the clutch that went bad and I have been driving a clutch for many many years with no issues. They offered me 10% off the labor. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I would also like to add that the clutch was RECALLED and KDH Jeeps supposedly “fixed” this recall. We are now taking the jeep to another jeep dealership and were informed that Mopar would be covering this 100%. In addition we were told that this particular dealership gets a lot of vehicles that KDH messes up, they even send vehicles to them! Do not trust this dealership. For the most part Cory was great. The owner and the service department did not care about us, they took our money and ran!
Update: just a few months after this, it’s now ANOTHER recall! Photos attached!
