Today, October 26th, I went with my friend whom I am helping build a shed, to Home Depot in Kingman Az. This was our third trip in one week to buy construction materials. The two previous times my friend showed his Arizona DL WITH Veteran on the license and he was provided a 10% discount on the purchases. Today when he checked out Home Depot refused to recognize his Arizona "Veteran" DL as a "military ID". My friend then showed them his military ID from the 1970's when he was honorably discharged. Home depot declared "that's expired." At this point my buddy asked to see a manager higher up in the store. Manager Chris came, my buddy explained that he was a Veteran and had been receiving a military discount from Home Depot and also from Lowes for years. He, again, provided the AZ DL showing veteran and also his military ID. Chris stated that he had to be wounded and refused to okay a discount. Veterans when you are hardware shopping, please remember this review as it is deplorable, beyond deplorable for any company to have a widely accepted Veteran discount and then disrespect those that have served for our country. HOME DEPOT. EITHER EXTEND THE DISCOUNT TO VETERANS OR QUASH THE "URBAN ADVERTISEMENT AND LURE" OF LETTING PEOPLE THINK YOU DO GIVE A DISCOUNT. I have researched this and I see you have 3 days a year that you honor a Veteran discount; but then I DO NOT see any signs or advertisements saying " We only honor a Veteran's discount 3 days a year." You let the public believe (it's the publics fault) that you honor Veterans everyday and then have an ambiguous, one day you give a discount and the next day you don't, policy. I posted the review below in our small town, 33,000 people and if you care to look further there is support from people here in Kingman. Lowes is 30 miles away and we will be buying between $2K and $3K more construction products in the next couple weeks; and OH YES they DO HONOR VETERANS...
Read moreHad pretty good customer service today, after I found someone to help me. But, it took way to long to find somebody to assist me.
Being handicap and difficult to walk long distances for me, I had to wait over 40 min to get a support person to help me.
The Person in the electrical Dept was on break. No one around for 1st half hour. Then I found a lady who helpped, until the Dept person came back, he was very friendly, got me very thing I needed. So did the lady, from the items she was familiar with.
I Was in the store almost 2 hours, where I should have been in and out in 45 min.
Also, the main isle leading to the registers between both exterior doors, a very long isle, was so jamed full of closeout inventory, on day after Christmas. It was almost imposible to push my cart, (I had 3 qty, 8' one by 2"s) thru that maze. I thought it was unsafe,
I do have to say the atmosphere was friendly and so we're the employees, the ones that help me. The store looked very ckean, probably better than most Home Depots.
I would like to suggest one thing for Home Depot management to put into there store. Some of us are handy-cap.
With such large stores like yours, It would be great if you had benches placed at several locations through out your store. Probably one by each entrance, then others in the center of your store.
Yes, I could use an electric cart, if available, but have had many die on me. The little exercise I get, I force myself to push a cart, after two hours, Its difficult to complete shopping and have to come back another time.
I woul have given a little higher star rating, but have found finding someone to help, has been an on going situation, since moving here...
