My go-to place in Kingman for just about everything I need! The first, most impressive thing about this place is the staff. Everybody is friendly and seem to enjoy working there. There are plenty of employees on the floor at all times who will come help you and they know where to find what you need in the store. Let's compare that to Home Depot...that's right, crickets
Next is the hardware section; it's outstanding, you can buy individual components like nuts, bolts, springs, even tiny ball bearings, etc, when you need just one or two and don't want to be forced into buying a pack of them that you'll otherwise never need again. Now lets compare that to Home Depot which just plain doesn't have what you need or requires you to order it online in multipacks and wait for it to arrive. I went to Home Depot recently, ONLY because it was after True Value had closed for the evening and I couldn't even buy a standard sized jam nut (thin nut) and they only offered the option to order a multi-pack of them online and then wait for it to arrive. I went to True Value the following day and there it was; I needed one and I bought one!
Prices are very reasonable here, cheaper than the competition much of the time and if you find something that's more than another retailer, you'll find it's not much more and that you're happy to pay the extra .50 cents to support this locally owned franchise with the excellent, helpful and knowledgeable customer service. There's not many hardware stores out there like this anymore so be sure to keep supporting this place and give them...
Read moreI have been shopping at this True Value for many years and always loved it. But after the way I was treated today I know I will ever go back. I was headed back to my home (25 miles away) when a bolt broke on my motorcycle shifter. I was stuck and all I needed was a bolt...1 bolt... I raced down there because they close at 3pm and I was there 10 minutes before they closed. When I went to the door it was locked and the employee ( Stocky guy with a beard) told me it was closed. I explained to him my situation and that all I needed was 1 bolt so I could fix my bike and go home. I asked him why he was closing early and he said they close at 3pm and I could not come in. I said it was 10 minutes til 3 and I really needed this part so I would not have to stay in a motel overnight. He just looked at me and gestured many times by running his finger across his throat like he was cutting me off. Needless to say I was stuck here in Kingman overnight because of this person. The next morning I met a guy at the motel who found the bolt I needed ( somewhere) and I was finally able to go home to my kids and angry wife. I was really upset at this persons actions and cannot believe True Value hired a person like this. For years I have enjoyed everyone I came in contact with there but I have never dealt with this guy...
Read moreI used to hold this store in high regards. After my experience today, I will not step foot into this establishment again. The customer service I was shown was absolutely appalling. Been told a certain part was coming in for the last 6weeks. Went in on Sunday and asked about said part. The employee told me they had made a mistake. The item I was looking for came in and they forgot to call me. He said he contact me Monday and fill me in. Crickets. I cruise over today and ask the same question(Tuesday). They told me what I was told yesterday was incorrect. So does that mean you just called your coworker a liar? I ask if I can special order the part as I’m tired of the song and dance I’ve been getting. The guy behind the counter today just wrote special order and stapled it to another piece of paper that already had my info. This was then attached to a shelf. He turned to me and said they was my special order. Still shocked but know my dollar will better...
