By far the best florist to choose for many reasons! I worked directly with Heather at Mattern's. I was planning my wedding in Wilkes Barre from out of state, naturally this was an initially a concern for my groom and I. A concern that was swiftly erased when we began the planning process with Heather. She reassured me the distance would never be an issue, we began planning via email and then only needed two meetings to wrap it all together. Of course we all hear (or you will hear if your just starting) "don't worry" during our wedding planning a million times. However, hearing it from Heather was genuine. Her attention to detail was above and beyond. I didn't have a clear decision of my flowers in the beginning. She was patient to talk it through with me until I got a feel for my preferences and she did too. Best advice I can give is trust her and Mattern's. Once you are comfortable with your vision and they see it too, don't micromanage, you won't regret it. My bouquet was one of the more important decor parts of my wedding I looked forward to. I was blown away! It was exactly what I wanted, quite frankly without even knowing exactly what I wanted. Heather deciphered my likes and dislikes and made me my dream bouquet. Was pretty disappointed with my experience here. It’s been a rough year for my mother as she battled breast cancer and lost her father all within the last 6 months. A family member recently gifted her a gift card to Mattern’s to alleviate some of the stress of decorating for Christmas since she wasn’t feeling the holiday spirit. My mom is the type of woman to have the house decorated and tree up way in advance but this year just wasn’t as joyous as others considering the circumstances. Fast forward to today where we walked into Mattern’s after completing a walk around the neighborhood. We were dressed modestly in lounge wear consisting of face masks, hoodies and sweatpants and it was quite evident our attire affected our lack of customer service. We were completely ignored as we lapped around the store despite store associates bending over backwards for current and new patrons entering and shopping meanwhile we struggled to select a Christmas wreath off the wall and basically begged for help.

What should have been a joyous celebratory shopping experience turned into one of the most unwelcoming and judgmental encounters. Will...

Elyssa was AMAZING to work with. She was so communicative and listened to every idea that I had and turned our Wedding day into the magical fairytale I have always dreamed of. When looking for a florist, I did my research and knew that Mattern’s would deliver the quality and creativity I was looking for. I can’t thank Elyssa enough for taking the time to create a specialty bridal veil for me made out of flowers, create a ROCKING 1990’’s cascading bridal bouquet, and not say no to any glitter and sparkle filled idea I had! She knocked every detail out of the ballpark and truly listened until she understood my vision. She hand delivered all the flowers the day of the Wedding, was so positive and kind, and above all is truly passionate about her work.
