I have picked up my mom's prescriptions here for about a year now.... She has used Walgreens for over a decade and has a large list of medications... I want to preface this by saying I understand what it's like to work short staffed, I understand longer wait times but what I have experienced is beyond... It is pure negligence... Especially when handling things as sensitive as people's medications. In the past few months we have had nothing but issues.... Some that could be actually life threatening. The first major issue was when picking up her mental health medication that she was out of due to a mix up they had in the refill process (not having it could end in hospitalization).... When we finally were able to pick up the woman scanned in prescription, said wait a minute, walked away and came back and ripped off the label from the bag and replaced it.... Didn't think much of it because it was the correct label stappeld to the bag until we got home and opened the bag to find a totally different prescription... it was one she had just filled and picked up a few days prior that was not even mental health related.... Not only could that be a deadly mistake if accidentally taken as the medication she thought it was but when calling to inform them of the error and need to come pick up the correct medication she needed right away we were met with a battle because the woman checking out her prescriptions scanned the receipt for the correct medications which made the system believe my mom already had filled and picked up the mental health medication she intended to receive, and there was zero accountability or remorse for the severity of the error. The next issue we had was picking up two other regularly filled prescriptions and a different woman asked us to wait because it appeared there could be one more.... I visibly watched her scour the pharmacy area in the most random, concerning places including the floor and the trash.... Finally I convinced my mom to switch pharmacies which of course has come with another major headache as her new pharmacy said they can't fill her needed daily inhalers because it shows she already filled three months worth at Walgreens last week..... We did pick up her final prescriptions at Walgreens last week but surprise surprise the inhalers were not included but apparently put into the system as filled and now I am on hold for over an hour (with one person ahead of me the entire time) to figure out why they have the prescription as filled And picked up meanwhile my mom is on her last days worth. Go...
Read moreThis review is for the Pharmacy only, which you should avoid at all costs if you possibly can! Store staff is otherwise kind and helpful, which is why I've avoided leaving negative reviews after past bad experiences.
There is consistently terrible service at the pharmacy, and with zero sense of urgency. Waiting 30+ minutes in a line of only 3 people is already bad. Especially when the prescription I'm waiting for is muscle relaxers for a back injury. But finally getting to the counter after that 30 minutes, and being told I needed to wait longer because of a "problem with insurance"? When that insurance issue was apparently able to be solved in a matter of 5 minutes, on a prescription sent almost 24 hours ago? Inexcusable.
I had to leave because I simply couldn't stand and wait any longer with an actual back injury. After all, I watched a woman waiting for longer than me, who was told "just 5 more minutes."
I beg the pharmacy staff to remember that people picking up prescriptions are often sick and/or in pain. They need their meds, especially if it's been a reasonable amount of time since the prescription was received by the pharmacy. Please try to show some kindness and care, even if you can't be urgent. And if the issue is that there are not enough pharmacy techs, or pharmacists, then Walgreens needs to do a much better at staffing this...
Read moreI suggest you try calling this pharmacy yourself before deciding to fill a prescription here. I like the location but the pharmacy feels like it’s barely operational. Prescriptions are delayed up to a week and no one ever answers the phone - you’ll be automatically disconnected at the 50 minute mark while on hold. If you go in person and wait in line they’ll give you an updated estimate but won’t stick to it.
My latest prescription (and final at this pharmacy) was sent on Wednesday 11/17 and it is now Tuesday 11/23. We’re told it “Should be ready Wednesday or Friday” (after being told it would be ready yesterday). They have been unreliable since I started going to them, but lately it’s just bonkers. Good thing I can survive without this medication - make sure you can too if you choose this pharmacy.
Unfortunately, if you actually need your medication you’re better off going somewhere else even if it’s farther away. It’s sad to see a job that’s so important to people’s health and well-being performed so poorly.
I’ll be trying the nearby Safeway pharmacy next time. I expected a dedicated pharmacy like Walgreens would be better, but I’m not sure how they...
