Their food is average, but their waitresses are not educated and trained at all. Worst customer service of all.
Who would want to eat at a restaurant the waitress pick up your water glass around the lip area? If she can't handle that, what else she's not handling right? Our food? Table? Plates? When we tell her about something, she argues back. We weren't asking something so difficult or unreasonable. We felt like it was all jokes until we got a bill that was over charged and had 18% tip added to it.

We had a very disappointing experience at that restaurant today. We had a group of 11 and pre-ordered so restaurants could start preparing the orders before we got there. We do this so we can fit our meal into our hour lunch break. We ordered online, which we have done before, but apparently the manager was not there so the staff had no access to a computer. We gave the order over the phone to the waitress 20 minutes before we would arrive so that the food could be ready when we got there. We arrived on time but 2 of us still had to wait 15 minutes for their meals. We asked for forks but they could only bring us 3 because all the rest were in the wash. Most of us cannot use chopsticks so this made it very difficult to eat. By the end of the meal one person still had no fork and ate her whole meal with a spoon and was unable to eat her salad. I don’t know why they couldn’t grab a few dirty forks and hand wash them for us.
This was not the worst of it. The worst part is when they brought our bills everything cost twice as much as the online lunch menu shows. I’m not exaggerating about this. The bento box I ordered should have cost 8.95 but after tax and tip I paid $19. I would have shorted the tip for the bad service but since our group was more than 6 we were obligated to pay 18%. The waitress would not honor the online menu price even though we brought a printout of it with us. She just kept saying we must have printed the Redmond’s menu but it clearly shows we had the Kirkland menu as the address is at the top. The waitress said that because what we ordered was not on the new menu she charged everyone the dinner prices. She did assure us that they would fix the menu online but that doesn’t help our situation. We used to hold our group luncheons here but we won’t be returning to your establishment...
Read moreI loved Oto Sushi Redmond, and then, when Kirkland location opened, loved the Kirkland location as well. Somehow I haven't visited it for a while (since COVID to be more precise) and a couple of days ago remembered about it and decided to stop by. I wasn't sure about working hours, so I opened the location information on Google maps and... saw how many 1-star ratings the place recently got - most about the quality of the service. I felt very sorry that such a nice place ended up getting so much worse and almost decided to go somewhere else instead, but ultimately still went to Oto - I had to see it with my own eyes. And I am very happy that I did. NONE of the stuff I read in the recent negative reviews turned out to be true. Although I came long before the closing hour so I cannot attest to comments of the type "they didn't want to seat us 30 min before closing".
Fish was the freshest, rolls were tasty - as always before that. Now to the service - we were seated immediately, served with hot tea and edamame within 1-2 minutes of being seated. Once we were ready to order, it was taken right away and we started receiving our food (some were brought a little earlier, some a little later) maybe within 10 minutes or so. During our time there (30-40 minutes) we were approached by 3 different members of staff checking on us - the tea was added twice (as soon as someone saw our mugs were not full), we were asked if we liked the food and everything was ok, whether we wanted anything else, the check was also brought immediately as we wanted to pay and the receipt came in less than a minute after.
The staff was attentive and caring, everything was smooth and quick. I'm happy to see the good old Oto Suchi exactly as I remember it from...
Read moreFor absolutely amazing sushi at a good price, you have to try Oto Sushi!! We have gone as a family many times and my youngest daughter doesn't like sushi but they have lots of good options for those that don't. The rest of the family LOVES good sushi and it's hard to find a place that serves really good, quality food at a price most people can afford.
The presentation is always nice. They spend time thinking about how to display the food in an eye appealing way but also fun.
The service is top notch. They pride themselves in making sure the customer is happy and satisfied. We have been there numerous times and the service is always fantastic.
It's a relatively small place so it might be worth it to call ahead if you have anybody in a wheelchair or walker. The restaurant is on the street level so there are no stairs but the entry way includes some tight turns but you won't have a problem getting in but there isn't a lot of space between tables so calling in ahead for those with mobility needs is worth it.
With the tables being relatively close together, there isn't any real privacy but the noise level isn't bad and people there are pleasant and it doesn't feel awkward. I would say that it would be nice to be in a bigger space that is more spread out, but they're limited with the space they have.
The menu is quite extensive with a lot of options. It is fun to go multiple times and try new rolls or dinner platters. The rainbow dinner is fun as that is served on a boat like platter with a dry ice / steam bowl that covers the food. The firecracker roll and mexican roll are great options if you like a little spice.
Overall, this is a great place and I highly...
