Great variety of plants and everything well cared for. I did utilize the free design service which was helpful as I am a novice gardener. However, when I came back today to purchase after reviewing ideas with my spouse some of the things I wanted were sold out. Fine, it is the season and the rain has finally left so it's understandable. It took me awhile but I was able to decide on alternatives. The prices are just ok. Kinda depends on what you are getting and at least they look good. Then I went to check out and OMG. The girl who helped me was named Kayla and apparently she was having a really bad day. She didn't want to answer any of my questions (about whether the design service lady gets commissions), told me I had to sign up online for the pansy points, which I did (I had probably at least $500 worth of plants) and then nothing happened, no text, no emails. It's been 4 hours later and I still haven't gotten anything. Oh, but it turns out she could have signed me up after all. Cue awkward exchange where I am repeatedly trying to spell my last name for her, offering my driver's license so she can just copy, meanwhile she isn't listening to me, getting loud, cutting me off. And I can see what she is typing so I know she is getting it wrong and I am trying to correct her which is making her more angry. Seems like a problem if I come back and they can't find me in the system because my name is missing 3 letters and the some of the other letters are wrong. She wasn't even making the attempt and I had to ask her to go back to the screen and correct my name before I was ready to pay. I ended up just leaving the stuff and walking away and I probably won't be back because I drove 36 miles to get there and it wasn't pleasant. I've been speaking plain old American Midwest English my whole life. I am not hard to understand and I would not have minded someone asking me...
Read moreCan hands down say best family of staff, best nursery, most well cared for plants ive ever seen, and a beautiful place to visit. If not for the storm id have taken home dozens of plants 😂 the staff was so truly kind and helped when we were locked out of our car during the downpour. I had posted a long review but the page refreshed and erased it :( these folks are so friendly and these plants are truly grown with love and looked after. We were going to visit today but saw the closed sign on instagram thankfully. They had also posted the beautiful flower i found when the rain knocked over hundreds of plants while they stayed cool and collected. I got home to see along my fence dozens of the same spotted orange lillies had bloomed! They truly earned their titles for Best Garden and Best nursery! The staff is certainly all family related or they fooled me haha and i LOVED reading about their history on their website! A beautiful story that spans over a century. They are the abdolute best and i dont recommend buying plants anywhere else(unlesd theyre out of season or stock here) also the pink flowered walkway and arch are great for a photo opportunity. My phone died but i got a selfie at the arch, the flower from the ground and a straw elephant container. Ill post those pics then the things i bought ill post ehen i get home. Happy fourth of July guys and i hope you saw the Super Full Buck...
Read moreKim at Sugar Creek was obviously very busy when I called, but when asked for guidance, she cheerfully said I was not to worry, she was happy to help me. I live in the suburbs of Chicago, and wanted to choose, order, and pay for plants, which a lovely lady's daughter, my friend, was going to pick up. My selections were to be gifts for two occasions -- the lady's 100th birthday(!!), and her Mothers Day present. Throughout our several conversations, Kim could not have been nicer, more accommodating, and more delightful. I decided within minutes that no matter what Sugar Creek's charges were, I'd buy all my plants from them. And do you know what? They were amazingly reasonably priced! I'm originally from St. Louis, grew up there, and have many, many friends and family there. Guess who is getting ALL my St. Louis garden and floral business in the future? (P.S. My lovely lady is thrilled with her Sugar Creek plants, and said "they need to go in the ground right away"! Her daughter and I are so happy to see her enjoyment and anticipation, as well as excited about how these beautiful plants will look through the years, as they grow...
