Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store — Restaurant in Kirkwood

Quite frustrating to order 20 dollars in ice cream for two people to receive some of the worst customer service I’ve ever had. Starting with a very difficult interaction at the register about simply ordering a shake when they are very clearly open at 8. Then being blatantly ignored and told when asking for napkins and none were available and tables were covered in ice cream is simply unacceptable. After waving a manager over, being told that two hours before close is “close to the end of the shift” is ridiculous. Ive never seen someone be so blatantly disrespectful to customers and not be fired on the spot. I’ve loved going here for the longest time but I will never be going back to this location and Oberweis will definitely not be at the top of my list anymore. Do better. They advertised a coconut ice cream, chocolate covered almond Sunday in a cone bowl with shaved coconut on top. I was very ready for this but when we got to the counter to order they were out of the ingredients! Since moving here to St. Louis, St. Charles area I have been very disappointed in eating out. I am a celiac that moved here from Colorado....big mistake! I could go into any restaurant in Ft. Collins Co. and get gf breads, I actually had choices on the menu's. Here, they've obviously never heard of Gluten free! So, when I was excited about getting something yummy of my choice out I was extra disappointed that once again I couldn't get what I wanted!! Bummer. The service was good, the kid that waited on us was awesome, so, that helped. I'll try again at the St....

Butter pecan ice cream was to die for but customer service is lacking. Just found it odd that samples for new yogurt were advertises and I was intrigued to buy one (I hate Greek yogurt and this was finally something different) and the people at the counter) did not seem to know anything about it, despite the large 5 ft sign directly behind me (across from the counter) where it mentioned it. I asked if he had time While we ate our ice cream could he check....absolutely he said. As we are finishing up eating, he runs out the front door to a couple outside eating and proceeds to take "selfies" with them....not returning before we left. Know what's important...
