Just had one of the worst "service" experiences at the Pasta House Manchester location. Hadn't been to Pasta House in about 10 years (just no locations close to me, and my previous experiences were just okay.) Granddaughter had received a Reading, wRiting and Ravioli certificate for reading 20 books and was existed to go to Pasta House to get Spaghetti, Salad and the soda offered from free. So the 4 of us (me, my wife, my mom and granddaughter headed to the Manchester location. The waiter Tim took our order which included salad or soup on all of our orders. After about 20 minutes we received our entree's Pasta Con Brocolli (me), Meatball sandwich (mom), and an adult and kids spaghetti (wife, and grandaughter) but no salad. Basically all the meals on the menu offer soup or salad so not sure how Tim forgot. Had to ask Tim about the salads. Tim disputed whether the Reading, wRiting and Ravioli (or spaghetti) the salad was included, whch the coupon clearly states. After about 10 minutes we received the salads and asked about bread, since we saw other customers being served bread as well. Tim said the bread would out soon. Never got our bread. Never was offered a refill on drinks. Asked for the manager. The manager came and explained my disappointment with the experience. He was somewhat gracious, offered a dessert which we declined. Gave us 15% off our bill which included a charge for my granddaughter's free Reading, wRiting and Revioli meal.
I gave the customary tip although totally disappointed in the service. Wasn't looking for a discount or free items other than the school certificate.
My granddaughter is an avid reader and she'll get many more certificates. We may try another location. Certainly will not return to the Manchester location. Frankly, didn't feel that this was a welcoming experience.
I'll review my visit to another location when my granddaughter get another certificate. Hopefully it's a much...
Read moreBeing from IL, we were so happy to spot a Pasta House on our trip across the river. We should’ve known when the parking lot was empty that was a sign to go elsewhere. As soon as the salads hit the table the manager who had been waiting to come by was at our table asking us to join a rewards program. Staff eating at the bar in front of customers. At one point we were the only table in the restaurant and had our cups lined up for a refill at the end of our table but they sat there until after our food came. After waiting so long for our food we considered leaving until we saw our server literally run through the front door, to the kitchen, and produce our food. My spaghetti (which I thought was a safe purchase) was full of water and sauce. There was a ring of saucy water around my pasta and sauce. I did not eat one bite, but the manager who asks everyone to join rewards wasn’t to be found. I didn’t make a complaint, I simply boxed my food, paid and left. I love Pasta House so I really hope they can get it together because I have nothing positive to say other than the restaurant looks to be in good condition. Hopefully this visit was reflective of a very off day for this...
Read moreAs a lifelong fan of Pasta House, I had a terrible first experience at the new Kirkwood location. First, the rolls had a weird burnt taste to them. Second, portion sizes have gotten significantly smaller while prices have literally skyrocketed. One small bowl of Pasta con Broccoli was $17.99! That’s not all. My date ordered a 14 inch pizza and it was $28.00!!! No, that’s not a typo. Also, the quality of pizza was no better than the grocery store pizzas you can get for $8. So dinner for 2 ended costing us over $50, not including the tip. It’s freaking Pasta House, not Mama’s on The Hill. The icing on the cake was that the pasta ended up making me sick to my stomach and I had to run to the bathroom before we even left the restaurant. Only then did I discover that the men’s room is smaller than my bedroom closet… the atmosphere of the Kirkwood location has the potential for being so much better. They are definitely trying to shift to a more “sports bar” vibe. That said, I won’t...
