This message is for the Kirkwood Store on Manchester. We would give this store 5 stars except for one problem. Truth be told, this was our favorite store because we love Sky and her gorgeous Newfy named Bear. Even though the Olive store is closer, we always use to go to the Kirkwood store to see Bear and have him visit with our dogs. But now Bear is never there anymore apparently because he accidentally flipped some saliva on a customer. 98% of the people who go to your store love dogs and expect to come in contact with dogs at the store!! If a dog slobbering on you bothers you then you probably should not own a dog. It is going to happen! Almost all dog owners want to see other dogs for their dogs to socialize with! So please bring back Bear to your store. I guarantee he is attracting 100 more patrons to your store for every 1 that you might lose. Newfoundlands like Bear are rare to see these days and such a fun sight to see when picking up dog food and treats. Bear is such a gentle and loving dog. I can’t imagine an owner or manager telling their employee that they can’t bring their dog to work because he slobbered on a customer. The customer wasn’t bitten or growled at. He drooled and wore a bib which telling customers he did. The lady overeacted and complained to management. She needs to be more tolerant just like we all need to tolerate dogs of all shapes and sizes. What about her 10 lb dog that growls and yips at all the other dogs and customers. Should she be banned? In this case, the customer wasn’t right. Now poor Bear has to sit at home while Sky educates other dog owners about pet nutrition, toys… As we have seen by all the help wanted signs around town, its hard to find good employees, so when you have a gem like Sky working tirelessly, at least let her bring her beautiful Newfy to work. Isn’t it a pet store after all ? Don’t punish the...
Read moreI always bring my dog here to get him some treats or to use their self service bath. We’ve always been treated nicely and all the staff love my dog and he loves them. That is til today. I brought him in to give him a bath. My friend comes with me to help out. My dog is big. When I was done bathing him, I started to cut his nails. ( I’m a former groomer) my dog has always hated having his nails cut and lets me know. That’s where my friend comes in to help hold him. Today he wasn’t too happy and was showing me his teeth and putting his mouth on my hand. I wasn’t letting him get away with it. Then one of the workers came in. One I had never seen before. She was not at all nice and told me cutting nails wasn’t allowed. I asked why, she said policy and then she left. I was annoyed and told my friend I had cut them there before and they never stopped me. When we came out of the room, that employee didn’t say one word to us nor did she even acknowledge us. On our way home my friend looked on your website and tried to find where it says that we can’t cut our own dogs nails. She found nothing. I wish I knew this employees name cause they...
Read moreTwo of the last three times I picked up my dog after grooming and booked another appointment they did NOT put it in the system. There is always so much stuff going on when they are checking dogs in and out and they missed setting the appointment. Today when I called to see if I was supposed to bring our dog over and the Regional Manager told me I didn't have an appointment. She said they couldn't get our dog in for 6 to 7 weeks or I could go to another location. I pointed out that this has happened twice now...she NEVER apologized but just kept saying they were booked up. I told her she was going to lose us a long term customer and she never said a word! She obviously has SO much business that she doesn't care. I understand there are no openings but why couldn't she have at least apologized and maybe offered to call us if they had a cancellation. I will be going to another groomer and I will be going over this Regional Manager to Corporate to let them know how little regard this person has for...
