First trip to the store since they moved from Turkey Creek. There was a power outage after I entered the store, I used my phone flashlight to prowl around and find 3 items that I wanted to purchase. I had them hold the things up front and told the employee I would be back in a couple of hours to purchase them, hoping the power would be back on. I came back about an hour later, still no power. Thinking there might be a way around this I could still make the purchase. Cash. I understand the registers probably weren't functional while the power was off. Pen and paper could have helped. Right down the tag info, bar code etc., total my purchase, take my cash, input the sale info when the power came back on. I approached the employee with my novel idea and was told she couldn't do that because she had no way of knowing what the tax would be. I smiled and said, that's what calculators are for. Simple understanding of mathematics and eagerness to make a sale could have facilitated my purchase. Either failing 7th grade math in school or the unwillingness to make an effort to please a customer...
Unrelated: The store racks were incredibly crowded and sizes were not in appropriate categories. I noticed this throughout the store (even in the dark) I was surprised to see certain brands being sold I.e. Walmart brands, George and Faded Glory. Don't get me wrong, the prices are good even on the high end items, but this store now looks like your run of the mill thrift store. It was a nice store, now not so much.
Whatever the reason you couldn't make the sale, have your employees offer up a better excuse than they can't "Figure out taxes" and attempt to maintain the same atmosphere as your old location. Sorry, but you're just average at best now.
Reply to the owner I'm sorry you feel as though it's an unfair review. I stated in my post I was aware the register would not be working. I'm not a boomer so I hate saying, but back in the day a calculator and an envelope entrusted with the senior employee would have completed sales for you that day. As far as making change, I would hope that you understood the customer to be intelligent enough to know you couldn't make change. I would have been more than happy to round up to make the purchase happen. I can even (calculate taxes) Unfortunately your store had no intentions of going above and beyond for the customer. Leaving the doors unlocked for customers to shop in the dark was not helpful. Try not to rely solely on technology for calculations. An employee hired for sales should know how to perform basic math, be proactive and here's the kicker, make the customer happy. It's not unreasonable. This store is a joke. Your old store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe amount of money this company pays for high end clothing is not respectable. I've been selling to this place for about 3 years now, I usually bring in 2 bags after every season and the items I sell are for the upcoming season. I am from Los Angeles California and actually used to manage a huge consignment business out there called Crossroads which some of you are familiar with: Everything I have brought in for the past 3 years is 100% on trend for the upcoming season and in perfect condition, I am a true fashionista at heart and this is one of my hobbies. Needless to say, I've been making a passive income off selling my clothes for over 10 years and moving to Knoxville definitely slowed down that passive income due to demand. At first this company literally would buy almost everything and then all the sudden about 6 or 7 months ago things completely changed. My style and quality product I brought in was about the only thing that had not changed. There are very young people that work there that are clearly not properly trained on how to buy in product. I come from this line of work and inspection of fabric to stitching is a must. I've noticed very heavily that these young employees maybe high school, are taking in product that is not of quality...therefore I end up donating the items they don't take. I stopped selling there and decided to shop there only and was just as disappointed. The product to buy here is very different from 3 years ago. This place used to be filled with high quality brands and now swims in the Wal-Mart No boundaries brand as well as Old Navy items. I will never pay $15 for a very used top from Old Navy, I can go to their store and get a brand new item for just a tad more. The styles they are buying in are for a very young, crop top wearing, mother telling you to go change, no hip accentuation style which is just cheap. This store 3 years ago was my absolute favorite because it served women like me, 32 years old with a great sense of style with elegance and distinction. That no longer exists at this store and I am no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped by to check out the bag selection and wasnāt disappointed! Lots and lots of very cute bags; prices were on the higher end for a thrifting experience, so I would go here when Iām looking to treat myself, rather than a regular weekly/biweekly thing. The store was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The clothing brands on racks had lots of variety and quality, ranging from Shein to Marc Jacobs (at least from what I saw from my one visit). It is organized by size and then color. Thereās more expensive designer brands in glass cases and behind the register as well. Iām sure there were other notable gems but I only checked out my sizes. Good selection of cute athletic wear. Shoes looked to be in good condition and lots of cute styles. I think the only thing I would say besides the average prices being on the higher end, is that itās a little overwhelming trying to look at all the jewelry as itās not sorted by quality/style, packaged with the storeās brand packaging that is a little bit distracting from the actual pieces themselves, and mostly placed on pegs front to back. It would be easier to look at them if they were in a case or revolving towers since you wouldnāt have to remove almost a whole peg of jewelry to look at something in the back. I also personally have certain metal allergies so it would be nice if the higher quality items were separated in their own case so itās easier to differentiate the metals and if they would be safe for me to use worry free. This isnāt the end of the world by any means, and could be considered not an issue for other people, but it would definitely make the shopping experience easier and thought Iād mention it. Other than that, I had a lovely time checking out the store and bought a really pretty bag, and see myself coming back when I want to treat...
