Items are easy to find, organized well. Lit well. Clean. They have what I need to get, usually in both name brand & generic. If you take time to sign up for digital coupons, you can save some decent $, easily. This is a store that you’re able to get what you need, & get back out quickly. There’s never a huge wait, as the cashier’s are knowledgeable & if a line gets too long, another hops on the other register. It’s not like other stores as far as when calling for assistance, it’s blatantly obvious that the staff is doing everything to suddenly be too busy to get on a register...leaving a growing & frustrated line for the single cashier. There’s 2 stores in Knoxville. 1 on the North side of town, the other on the South side. Both stores have knowledge & friendly staff. They’re helpful & kind to children, no matter how tired & whiney. However, the South side has taught me to be extra diligent about checking expiration dates. We eat the Sara Lee Artisano bread, & it became an expensive lesson learned,(as far as bread goes) to not double check the date when I grabbed 3 loaves that were expired, & I didn’t notice the green areas on the loaves. I keep receipts for everything, but sometimes I don’t realize that I’d never been issued 1. I asked about a refund, but the staff was clearly new, going by the books & took no initiative to help further. The policy is no receipt, no return/exchange. So, again, for bread is was an expensive lesson learned. On the other hand, the South store has a far better toy selection. The North store never has carried any LOL dolls when we’ve been in, whereas the South side has a decent stock & variation. The South side usually has more available in the Clearance aisle, & signs up that clearly indicate if there’s a color & shape sale to check tags for. Finally, this year, they’ve got a REALLY nice/decent design selection for kitchen & yard/garden. It’s clearly not a line of products of designer quality, but for the price point, it’s actually really cute stuff. They’ve really stepped it...
Read moreYesterday I had the worst shopping experience in this dollar general that I ever have in ANY Dollar General. I am a mother of three and we live off of one income so I utilize all possisble savings that I can. They ran an add for buy one get one free kleenex wipes and tissues. At the end of the transaction the total was twenty dollars more than it should have been and I told the cashier that was wrong and both cashiers could not have cared less and I just stood there in silence waiting for them to help but neither of them did and I paid the price I knew I should not have had to. Knowing I was not in the wrong, my husband went in and tried to explain the situatuon. Once again neither of the cashiers could care less and kept assuring him it was right. It was not right and my third purchase I purchased school supplies and was only doing so to utilize the get five dollars off of 15 dollars with digital coupons. Well it showed the coupon on the the cashiers screen but would not take it off and again she said she could not do nothing. I am taking everything back today and am still really upset with the lack of...
Read moreI gave this place two stars because the help was friendly. However, I was disappointed Thanksgiving morning when we went in to buy a couple bulbs that we can't find anywhere else. We got to the register and were told that they can't sell them to us and that they are prohibited. What does that mean? Why were they on the shelf? We needed these for my parent's house. Very...
