If I could give a 0 star, I would. I took my son to the Knoxville ER due to a 104.5° temp and not drinking fluids or having wet diapers. We were the only ones sitting in the ER and were there for close to an hour. When we were brought back, the nurse was AWFUL. She continues to tell my 1.5yr old son āNo!ā as he tried to pull away from her. She was extremely loud and had zero bedside manner. The doctor came in and said he would like to admit Tylenol suppository, run some bloodwork and start fluids. They took us to a room. The nurse administered Tylenol. She said if they could get him to drink fluids, they will not run an IV. She brought a Gatorade into our room. He drank nothing of it. His fever dropped to 99° after Tylenol and they decided to send us home. When I asked why the fluids were not started and no bloodwork done, the nurse stated that āsometimes the doctors orders things that they donāt need doneā.. TRASH hospital. We are now on our second day of admittance at Blank Childrenās Hospital with severe dehydration and an unknown infection. Knoxville Hospital ER is useless and should feel ashamed that they do not know how to do their jobs. Money hungry hospital. Canāt wait to see our bill for Tylenol...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKnoxville Hospital Clinic has gotten better the last few years so overall I would give them a more positive review. I do not buy into the "Pella is better" business because I've been to both. That said, I would not recommend coming here on a Saturday. There is only one provider and she tells you up front that for liability reasons she does not prescribe pain meds. Period. Her personal policy. I had not asked for any narcotics for the pain I'm having. I don't take that stuff during the day because I have to be alert to watch kids. I was just a little shocked that there is not more of a universal hospital policy that would make it more of a case by case basis rather than just denying everyone because of the actions of others. She has already decided what she will not do for you before you even arrive. She also will not give me a report of today's visit to take with me to see my specialist Monday. Says she's too busy. They type all through the appointment. My regular provider simply prints that off for me. I am very impressed with my regular provider but I am not impressed today at all. They told me she works every Saturday and is the only provider...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Knoxville Hospital ER on 3/21/22 around 2300. I came dehydrated and my heart rate was through the roof. The staffs, nurses, and physicians in this ER were super sweet, experienced, and understanding. I got admitted to the med-surg floor after the ER visit. Everyone on this floor was wonderful. Theyāre on time, listen to your concerns, very kind while maintaining professionalism. I was discharged home on 3/23. Iām sure that their excellent care lead to my speedy recovery.
