Very disappointed with many things at The Foundry-and of all things- for my wedding. They made promises they absolutely did NOT keep. When paying for a wedding, you should certainly receive excellent service with no doubt that things will be taken care of as promised. We were assured that our space would be kept private until the cocktail hour was over- this did not happen. They kept the doors open, revealing the space early and allowing guests in before it could be photographed untouched. We specifically discussed a special way of displaying the napkins as our tablescape was designed around that design, and they promised that would be done. It was not, and when my mother asked about it on the day of, the answer was "we didn't have time". We had our head table on the stage and it was beautifully designed, no detail left untouched, however, we were assured the tablecloths would be steamed with no wrinkles. This also did not happen. My photos were ruined. They looked absolutely horrible. Why make the promise if you have no intention of following through? I specifically discussed our bar menu- 3 beers and wine. I had beautiful bar menus made and framed. Someone from the venue took it upon themselves to WRITE on top of them to add additional info. RUINED my photos and most of all, I was appalled that my guests would think I would display such chaos. The catering manager was not easy to get in touch with. I would send emails and wouldn't hear back for long periods of time- or at all and then would have to contact the owner/manager? Very poor customer service skills. Also- if you see one price on the menu, don't plan on that being the actual price you pay!! Prices went up dramatically from the day I signed my contract and we were not notified of the changes. It wasn't until we were submitting a head count the month of the wedding that we were made aware of changes. So- forget it if you are keeping a budget! Overall, would not recommend. Also, if you need more than 4 hours to prepare for your event- forget it! They will book other events on the same day as yours leaving you very little time to...

My family has done three large (125+ people) events at the Foundry - two weddings and one vow renewal. While they do a great job with events and parties, they have terrible business practices. When we questioned that our bill went over what we had contracted for, we were told several different stories as to why. The story changed every time we questioned where the amount was coming from, and told them how the events of our event had happened, and they all but accused us of lying....certainly implied it. As it turned out, with the changing stories that we were given, I feel that we were lied to and over-charged. They also felt that their best course of action was to take us to court! We ended up just paying to avoid further hassle, but they lost a very good client and will no longer get our referrals - of which there have been several over the years! It's really a shame that they were more than willing to treat a loyal customer this way over a relatively small amount of money. We also didn't fight the lawsuit because a dear friend (that we referred), was having their wedding there last month and we didn't want the owners of the Foundry to treat them poorly due to our relationship. I will not be doing any further events with the Foundry or their...

We just had our son’s rehearsal dinner of 60 people at The Foundry, and I cannot fully express how wonderful the experience was! In the preparation, working with Laura Summers was seamless. She guided us through the process and the decisions to be made offering options along the way. She was so gracious when we had to make some minor changes at the last minute! Lafayette and his team were also so friendly and helpful during setup! They were kind and attentive as we got centerpieces put together and jumped right in to assist with some minor AV issues we had with our own projector. During our event, the buffet food was phenomenal and plentiful, and the servers were fun and engaging! We had so many lovely comments from guests! The servers were present and friendly during dinner and so helpful during the breakdown of the decorations we brought! Our guests raved about the setting, staff, and food, as well! The entire staff at The Foundry made our rehearsal dinner feel even more special than I could...

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day, and the Foundry played a major part in making that happen. This is a beautiful and historic venue in Downtown Knoxville, but it is in a great location plenty of parking which made it easy for my out of town guests or the locals who are not as familiar with the logistics of downtown area. It is right next to the old L&N Station and World's Fair Park, which is where we took our pictures before our wedding. Working with Lindsay was so enjoyable as she made the process easy and was so responsive. All of our guests loved the food and the historic look of the venue.

I really had high hopes for my first time visit to the Foundry. I have been longing to try it since the 1982 World's Fair. We were there with about 300 other people. The price was a little high for what we got. I understand that we had to pay for the venue as well as our meals. But I think that the quality could have been a little better. The rolls were cold. Actually fresh out of the refrigerator. Not even room temperature. The food was very plain with small portions.

Such a beautiful venue for a wedding or any large event. I had heard it was very nice but this was my first time to see it for myself. The reception area was large but also small enough to be able to celebrate with everyone. The catering staff was awesome. The restroom that is located upstairs is only a single stall. I thought this would be a problem, but it wasn't. Also, more restrooms are located downstairs if needed. The parking is free and handicap accessible.
