The Hill Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Knoxville

We came in because it was late and it was pretty much the only place open. They told us they could only do fried foods at that hour (11pm) okay fine sure. It was a bit irritating for me because I have Crohn’s disease and I can’t have a lot of fried foods but not many places were open. We ordered wings. They came out and the smell made me nauseated but I figured that’s just me and my weak stomach. My other half was immediately grossed out after eating two and I managed to get a few bites in. He complained to the bartender it just wasn’t good. Not seasoned enough, just carelessly drenched in sauce. It came out five minutes after ordering so whoever cooked that night didn’t do a great job cooking thoroughly, and I say this because I think my partner, he may have got salmonella. This morning I’m bleeding which is to be expected because the sauce I chose was spicier than expected. I got Buffalo garlic Parmesan and there was next to no “garlic Parmesan,” if any. My other half; who is a very healthy human has been on the toilet all day throwing up and having the shits, so we think they honestly just didn’t cook his all the way through. I wouldn’t recommend you get the food here especially past a certain hour because apparently they don’t care about quality. I called in an order tonight Monday 11/25 at 11:24pm, ordered a pound of buffalo garlic parm bone-in wings, a half pound of bbq bone-in wings, and onion rings. They were out of onion rings so I got buffalo chips as per the guy’s recommendation. I asked for ketchup, they told me celery was included, and I asked for one blue cheese and one ranch. They said yep got it.

I grab the order, come back to my hotel, there’s 2 ranches and no blue cheese, the bbq wings are boneless instead of bone-in, there is no ketchup, there are no napkins for these messy wings so I’m in my hotel room using the Kleenex box, and there is NO celery and I should have got 2 orders of it. I usually don’t leave reviews but holy crap. To top it off, I see a hair in my box once I started eating. I called to see if I could get some sort of reimbursement since I was not driving back out to the restaurant and my order-taker said he couldn’t unless I was in the restaurant. Sigh… I wouldn’t have ordered wings without the celery and the boneless wings just aren’t good at all. The bone-in wings are actually good, but the buffalo chips fall flat. I’m sure this is a fine place to dine-in and have a drink, but this takeout experience was beyond terrible....

Upon arriving on the lines were absolutely horrible. Very small place not much room, not the cleanest either. Staff/bartenders were super slow & rude When we finally got to order beer. We were unaware you had to order each time instead of opening a tab. So we ask could we pay cash for the tip. Because we had planned to order more. He said that would be fine. First off beer was very warm and not the best. My hubby orders food the bartender brings it to the table after a good 30 min wait on 9 wings which weren’t cooked all the way. Then the bartender says leave after eating since you didn’t tip us. My husband tried explaining to him that we ask to pay cash we always tip with cash not tipping every time we have a drink or food . He sticks his hand up I don’t want to hear it. (We simply ask could we pay cash at the end before leaving) he was very rude. Never will go back again!

Edit to add by the end of our visit after only ordering 1 beer and wings I tipped the guy that goes around cleaning the tables up because he was the only kind one there. I will stick to my word and...
