Long review but hopefully worth the read.... To be honest, I almost did not purchase from here due to a few bad reviews and a pre-conceived assumption that they would be over-priced.... but they were the only place I could find the washer and dryer I wanted in stock. I was desperate and needed them ASAP. After working with our sales rep (from across the country... we just moved here), Gary, he gave us a very reasonable deal that was not far from big box store price. THEN we found out they were back ordered. Gary understood I couldn’t go without a washer and dryer with two babies so he went to work and found a way to get me my dream washer and dryer. After being delivered, we called for service as something was wrong with my dryer. Turns out, our vents were clogged (not Friedman’s fault) but this is where the magic really happens. Mark, the service repairman, was awesome. Could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up hiring Friedman’s to look at my VERY old fridge. Mark was again so knowledgeable and kind. We decided to not repair the fridge and purchase a new one. I could have gone anywhere but could not get over how excellent the service was. You do not get that at a big box store.... ever! So back to Friedman’s to buy a fridge. Things then got even better... Gary, again, hit it out of the park by helping us find the perfect fridge for our budget and family. I would not have even considered the brand we purchased at a big store but it’s amazing. I just called with a few questions on my new fridge and they were so incredibly helpful and are sending someone out to help me. No big store would ever do this and to be fair... I really did not pay much more (if any) for my appliances! Hoping to see Mark’s friendly face on Friday. He’s so nice that I don’t think I will even mind if my appliances break down in the future if it means I can shoot the $&@! with Mark (kidding.... sort of). I will hands down purchase all of my appliances from Friedman’s..... specifically from Gary as he is an appliance expert AND mostly because I know that if something happens that their service after they take my money is top notch. There is no way I would get the same service at Costco, Lowe’s, Home Depot... etc. I would sit on the phone for hours begging for them to help me all for them to tell me I’m SOL. Instead... I make a 2 minute phone call and Friedman’s to the rescue. Note: we are new to Knoxville and have no affiliation with anyone from Friedman’s. This review is my way of saying thanks to them for being awesome.
PS.... someone should tell Janice below that she is lucky the service department is coming. She might even make a new friend and stop...
Read moreHired Friedman’s Appliances to repair a high end dishwasher (Fisher Paykel). After spending $149.00 for the initial diagnosis, were told we needed to replace a water pump that drains water from the washer drawer. We told them to order the part, but after a couple of weeks we got a call from a sales person trying to sell us a new washer. I explained that we had ordered the part for repair only to find out the part was never ordered. We could only assume that the repair person (Ron) told their sales department to try and sell us a new washer. We again ordered the part at a cost of $387.84. When the part came in they installed the part only to find that it didn’t repair the problem. We were then told by the repair person there was nothing else they could do to fix the problem, so we ordered a new washer at a cost of $982.16. As the new dishwasher was installed (by someone they recommended) it was determined that the new dishwasher was having the same problem as the old washer i.e. drawer would not drain. The installer determined that the problem was not with the dishwasher, but rather a main drain from the disposal leading out of the house that time it was obvious that there was nothing wrong with the old washer. Cost to install the new dishwasher was $525.00. The total cost we had incurred to replace a perfectly good, old dishwasher was $2044.00. Friedman’s never admitted to a misdiagnosed analysis by their technician and refused to even make any kind of amends for the misdiagnosis. After discussing the issue with the service manager and asking him to at least be fair regarding the misdiagnosis he said in no uncertain terms that Friedman’s would not reimburse us any amount of the $2044.00 . I then requested (through their receptionist) to have the general manager of the store call me regarding the issue. He never returned my call. We, unquestionably, were misled into believing that we needed a new washer when there was nothing wrong with the old washer. All we ask was for them to be fair and honest regarding this misdiagnosis. They never would admit to their mistake. Shame on Friedman’s. Be vary aware of any repairs you may be considering to be done by Friedman’s. We will no longer ever do business with...
Read moreI can't say enough great things about Friedman's Appliances. I recently purchased a new GE Cafe induction slide in range from my wonderful sales person Jeff. He is so amazing to work with, he will even come to your house to show you how to use your appliance. I won't buy my appliances from anyone else and highly recommend Jeff when selecting your new appliance. After receiving our new range I noticed a couple issues. Ron, their repair tech who has been with them forever, was sent to repair it and discovered a more serious issue. So we would not be without a stove, he spent five hours, even running out to buy a solder gun, to get it running till the part arrived. Unfortunately it was more serious of an issue. Bradley, part owner of Friedman's offered to bring me a loaner range if they couldn't get the part right away! What company does that!!! Melissa in service, checked everywhere for the part and was able to overnight it and scheduled Ron to come back the next day. What I love about Melissa is that she cares about making the customer happy, communicating what she is going to do to fix the problem and doing it. Ron worked meticulously to get it fixed right, he even fixed an issue we had with our three prong electrical box. He took the time to make sure the stove was perfectly level in place and everything worked as it should before he left. Ron is a top notch repair tech, someone you can feel confident with that it was done right. Everyone at Friedman's Appliances bends over backwards to make sure their customers are happy. Friedman's is the only place I will ever buy my Appliances. Make sure you check them out when you're ready. They have the BEST people and very competitive prices! You will...
