First, let me say that we absolutely LOVE Chick-fil-A! When we learned we were getting one in our home town of Chambersburg, PA (a small burg gets excited about these things), we were so excited. They are a wonderful company, the stores are almost always managed very well, and their employees are trained to be very friendly and service minded. We love their food, too.
That is why we were so surprised about this location. We were in this area for the day while vacationing in Gatlinburg/PIgeon Forge. There's a Massage Envy close by that we visited, I got my nails done down the road, and while waiting for me, my husband and his friend went to this Chick-fil-A for a late lunch. They said the employees were hanging around behind the counter talking and just kept ignoring them standing at the counter waiting to order. Then when the girl finally came to take their order, she didn't look at them, greet them, smile, or interact with them. They were shocked and surprised that she was downright rude.
We heard this story after they picked us up from getting our nails done. We had to drive back to Pigeon Forge and hadn't eaten ourselves, so since it was on the way and quick, we decided to go through the drive through, hoping earlier was just an isolated incident. I'm almost user to unfriendly and even rude service from fast food restaurants, but Chick-fil-A is a rare exception. I mean, they literally make you feel special!
But AGAIN, no smile, no greeting, o eye contact, NOTHING. We went on our way travelling back to our resort. I ate my waffle fries first, which were fine. But when I opened my Chicken Sandwich, my chicken breast was at least HALF the size it always is when I order this. I always remove the bread and eat the breast with just a little mayo and pickles. It usually hangs outside the buns and that seems to be a standard size. This one was about half the usual size. I even showed it to the guys up front and they agreed.
Seriously, Chick-fil-A corporate or regional manager, if you ever see this, you have serious issues with this location. It dos not represent you well. I think I'm being generous with 2 stars, because this is one of my favorite companies. It does not reflect the customer service and standards set by your company and that we find at Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout...
Read moreFirst, I love Chick-fil-a and would normally give five stars. Yesterday I visited this location for dinner. The traffic pattern is really bad there. I wanted to go in and eat inside so I needed to park. the side of the restaurant with the drive through has limited spaces and a sign that says “curbside” so it seems like I should go around and park on the other side. so I drove past those spots. but you came to actually exit the property, turn left toward Kroger and then turn left again to reenter the parking lot on the opposite side. Except there is a sign blocking that entrance that says to go back onto Kingston Pike and park on the side where the drive thru line starts. seriously? Turn left on KIngston Pike at rush hour? Has anyone there tried to do this?
So I eventually turned left and came back in and parked.
I went to the counter to order and four employees were at the registers and none greeted me. it was almost like they were shocked to actually see a customer inside. Fairly quickly another one came up and asked to take my order. I was agitated and relayed my observations about the poor traffic pattern and she said she’d tell the manager. I said I’d be willing to tell the manager myself but there was no offer to get the manager. she explained how their traffic pattern worked. well, I’d just experienced that and explaining it didn’t make it better. I got my food and sat down.
Another employee came out, said he had told the manager and the manager wanted me to know that I can drive into that parking area from the front. but, signage makes it clear if you go in you will be going against traffic leaving the drive thru pickup area. ugh. And it doesn’t help the next person to tell me that. but what really got me was that the manager sent an employee to tell me this instead of doing it. I know Eddie believes in developing people. I think there is an opportunity to develop some of his people more.
The only redeeming point about this visit is that the food was excellent BUT I didn’t get the extra pickles that...
Read moreI occasionally come to this location`s ( drive thru) and usually never have an issue until today. it was my first time using the delivery service and by far the worst experience.I received a msg stating that my food had been delivered to " FRONT DESK" and it was not. As soon as I seen the MSG. I texted and called the delivery guy. He did not reply nor answer. So I called CFA and spoke with Charles. Charles was very defensive about his driver, instead of listening to what I had to say, he did not. He said the Delivery guy has been working for more than a year and said, someone had stole my food and said, a bald man took it , because the doors were locked and I specifically instructed the "FRONT DESK" AND HE HANDED IT to "someone else" apparently at the office. I had clearly stated= front desk and mind you the lobby is opened.I not once said, the driver was lying but as first he just ranted to me and implying something that could or not be true. I am not saying the driver is lying because clearly 1. i did not receive my food 2.I did not see who he "handed it too" or when he came" ; however, it had instructions for drop off and Charles stated his delivery driver was not a liar making it seem as if I was the liar. Instantly saying someone,, stole my food. He also mentioned, he understood that my food was not delivered or either stolen from someone at the office I work for and understood I was angry for that. OH and said, his driver has dropped off at this location multiple times than why did he go to the side where it was locked if it had instructions for the FRONT DESK. He literally would not let me speak and I asked him to please allow me to speak while he just kept going and finally I expressed to him. All I needed was a refund at this point. Bad...
