Kroger — Local services in Knoxville

Kroger employees are not properly utilizing PPE equipment nor practicing social distancing at all during this global pandemic! We have started doing Kroger pick-up to try and stay safe and not get sick from going inside the store, but it's not any better! The employees do not wear gloves, and will get right in your face through your car window!! The employees we saw did have masks, but were not wearing them properly. One had his mask below his nose, only covering his mouth. The other had his mask drooped down on his neck, not evening wearing it at all. We have experienced the same thing at three different Kroger locations in our area now. This needs to be addressed. Also, we waited 50 mins in the parking lot at the 4409 Chapman Hwy location, since they only had 1 person working. There was another employee running the whole thing, but then the other guy took over. Both are clearly overworked, running back and forth with the groceries, literally out of breath. I felt so bad for them both. Plus, it was pooring rain. Kroger should supply their employees with raincoats to use, or something. Niether of them even had a jacket on and it was 50 degrees out! The second guy had to come up to the car and ask what the name was, even though I already called twice to tell them. This is outrageous, they need to have 4-5 people at least working the Kroger pick-up to be effective. I understand that the system is overrun right now from COVID-19, but it does not mean employees need to completely disregard all precautions just to get the job...

This store is terrible! The good reviews has to be the store managers or the suck ups. I've been going to this Kroger's for over 30 years or more I've watched the decline of this store. I'm going to write the main Krogers because apparently the managers here just don't care. The place is junky, dirty, and they don't keep normal things stocked well. The prices are too high so I try to go to Walmart or Food City but sometimes I have to come here. It's pretty bad when the lettuce isn't stocked that's bad and lazy. You know they have it in the back. They don't have a good selection of meats very sparse in what they have. Go to the west Knoxville Kroger's now that's a nice store everything is stocked, it's clean and they even have flowers and plants outside which ours do not. The picture of the store on this website isn't our store Don't know where it's from but it's not the one in South Knoxville. This store is a joke wished it would take a look at west Knoxville store and clean things up and keep things stocked and get more variety. Lastly the pharmacy really sucks they are really rude and very very very slow. The older blonde pharmacist is the main rude one. Take your medicine somewhere else that believes customer first and treats you that way. This store didn't used to be this way long time ago. It's sad that the people of South Knoxville gets such a bummer of a store. Go...

I rarely leave reviews on Grocery Stores because most grocery stores are just places you pick up food. Simple. Not this store.

I have been coming to this Kroger (as sparingly as possible) for 2 years purely for locational convenience. I constantly run into issues of lack of stock, finding help in the store. This location may be understaffed, but overall the employees are less hygienic, less friendly, and don't maintain a well run store.

While usually an acceptable store to buy non perishables from, I would avoid buying produce or deli items as the quality of these goods has always been questionable.

Finally and most importantly the safety. I have been approached in the parking lot 3 different times and know others who have had the same experience. I have had what I thought was a pick pocketing attempt in the store. Overall it is in a decently sketchy area for Knoxville's standards with more homelessness etc. But let me be clear: THIS STORE IS NOT SAFE FOR SINGLE WOMEN AND FAMILIES TO SHOP. Worth the while to steer clear of any of these risks just to get groceries.
