Weigel's — Local services in Knoxville

The customer service in this store was absolutely horrific. A friend and I came in around 11:40 tonight , 11/07/25, to grab hot chocolate and then leave. We walked in and were immediately yelled at by both employees that they were card only, the bathrooms were closed, and they were closing soon. Just this would have been understandable. We were in the middle of grabbing our drinks when they yelled that the store was closed, it is maybe 11:45. We make it to the register, supposed to be separate payments, so while I pay for mine my friend goes to look for a snack and when I’m done she is immediately at the register ready to pay, again, before the close time of 12. He walks to the door, unlocks it, holds it, and tells us that I payed for both drinks and they were closed and we needed to get out. She does not get to buy the snack that she wanted. When we get in the car we look at the time thinking it has to be passed close, but it is only 11:51. I understand it’s close to closing time, but the disrespectful attitude and kicking us out of the store before closing time has even come was ridiculous and uncalled for when we were nothing but respectful. We also looked at the doors before walking in for store hours and didn’t see any posted so we are unsure how we were supposed to know what time they close, but still does not constitute...

last month I paid $3.08 for a gallon of milk, yesterday I waited in line(no self checkout) to pay $4.56, that's a 48% price increase for a gallon of milk in one month! I can only imagine the ill conceived corporate market repositioning conversation, but please note; I've been coming to this location for 57 years ever since I was a young child. I'm not self destructive enough to buy beer, cigarettes, or unhealthy enough to buy "energy drinks", or low IQ enough to buy lottery tickets, or extravagant enough to pay 40 cents per gallon more for gasoline than Sam's Club(free air too) only a mile away, so why would I ever return...

I would give it five stars but I walked into my former store just to grab a few drinks and sodas while I wait for my wife to get off from dentons across the road the young cashier Kathryn as I was walking up to check out steps away from her register and goes to the back room not even acknowledging I was there. This was I guess a few nights ago I believe the relief manager was in charge. It took up to twenty seconds before someone turned and got me on my way. Won't be back in this weigel's store for a while. I shouldn't have to go inside a store I used to work and feel like I'm not welcome there at all...
