La Crosse Farmers Market Assn. — Local services in La Crosse

I give it one star because it is there. The park it sits in is overwhelmed with homeless and they are everywhere. Park is dirty and in need of real cleaning. Homeless pee everywhere especially in the parking garage. Constant profanity used around children. Very limited food and items for sale. They have a sharps collection point nearby to.remind you to watch your step and be ever mindful of where your kids sit, or play. Just not a good situation. City of LaCrosse has turned a blind eye to the problems in the park. Especially homeless living in the park. Just do not feel safe there. And it is only getting worse. Smell of human urine and fresh urine all in the parking garage. Terrible...

This park is known locally as Squirrel Park, and there is plenty of seating and the park is well maintained. The only negative I can think of is sometimes you have to pick your seating differently if bees are dining on some open containers in the trash bins, which by the way are emptied regularly so no fault with the city on that point. It is also the hub of the Farmer's Market and major donations made by Paul and Sue Hanifl have made the market a happening place. Some old board member was very rude to my friend and I looking for information to sell our homemade specialty items for kids to adults. We were drop in vendor that had no place for new items or outsiders. We had been attempting to contact someone for 2 weeks on FB as it says on the page. If that is now how you want to be contacted you really need to update your page, info, and board members, and discuss your rules about exciting new vendors looking to share their art.
