We had been traveling a crossed the USA and this is by far our least favorite experience we have had yet. We have a 27' travel trailer and found the path thru the park to be very narrow. The staff member presents the night we arrived told us to go to a certain spot only to get to said spot and there were folks in it still from the night before. We then were told to go to a new spot number, only to see that it was for fifth wheels. Finally, he said just pick the next spot we see which was at the near end of the park. Thankfully we found one as there is no where to turn around. Electric was up at least 10' on the poll on the opposite side of what was needed to back into. Leaving the site we were trying to navigate the narrow path and as we were trying to dodge a tree on one side, there was a large truck sticking out past his site as well we were trying to miss. We ended up scraping at least 3' of our roof to the wood. I spoke to the gentleman in the office/bar and he quickly was defensive and did not offer any apology or concern for the matter. I went in to the office asking for a referral for a shop to take it to locally and he repeated that this isn't the parks fault. I never pointed blame, I just needed to know where to get a quick fix. Not impressed at all by the staff nor the campgrounds. The only good experience we had was with a perm who was so kind to help us try and park in a spot that we tried hard to make work, but was not made for travel trailers. We went to the Pettibone Shop down the road for our fix and he was extremely kind and helpful.
As for the park, the worst we have seen so far in the USA, and we've been in some pieces of work. The staff was not knowledgable nor helpful. I know it was the day after Oktoberfest and we hear the young man say he was feeling a little rough the night we checked-in. But at the end of the day, we live in our trailer and travel so it is our home so we hope to stay in places that appreciate and understand that, this place missed the...
Read moreThe venue and view is absolutely beautiful, how ever the manager Kristin was horrible to work with the day of the wedding. She put a good front being nice and friendly to work with leading up to the wedding but day off was awful. She was nothing but snotty and rude to me, my bridal party, and guests. We had a bridal suite we paid $1,000 extra for to have for the whole day to get ready in and she okay’d us to bring snacks and drinks and during the pictures before our ceremony one of my family members walked in a caught her dumping out all the bottles we brought for drinks that and said was okay. She would sit and walk around the parking lot going up to people asking them what they were drinking and making sure they bought it from HER bar and not to mention a few people she confronted where kids under the age of 18 that were drinking sodas and not to mention my best friends Mom was loading my 2 year old god son up in the car to go home and she ran over and said what are you doing and my friends Mom said putting my grandson in the car so we can leave and Kristin said oh okay well as long as you’re not bringing alcohol in…who does that? We paid for drinks for our guests at the bar why would people bring their own when it’s against the contract? She also lost a pair of scissors we were billed for out of our refund because she states someone “stole” them…yes because my bridal party needed scissors that bad they had to steal some🤦🏼♀️ We also had people catch her taking 2 or 3 separate trips to our cupcake table for our GUESTS and taking cupcakes for herself and staff without asking us if that was okay. Never did we offer her to take them. NOT okay. The ceremony and venue was absolutely beautiful and the food catered by Blue Moon was 10/10 and same with the service from their...
Read moreWe were really excited about staying at the Pettibone Park And Resort. The location was great, close to downtown LaCrosse. The Park is nice and the facilities were clean. But our excitement was diminished by the other campers, mainly the long term and the folks that just came for the weekend. Very few people followed the rules. People driving their cars and trucks and their rented golf carts the wrong way, as it was a one way road. underage kids driving golf carts. Which according to the managements rules kid weren’t allowed to drive golf carts. The campers behind us kept walking thru our campsite. Someone stole our firewood we had in the fire pit. And we had two drunk guys, on one of the rented golf carts from the resort go thru our campsite and almost ripped out our 30 amp cord from the camper. Not so sure having a bar at the camp ground is a good idea if they are renting out golf carts. Also the campers behind us also and a smoker about 4 ft from our trailer, it was so bad we had to leave the campsite and get a hotel room for the night as it came right into our trailer. It was bad. Had long term folks passing me on the one way road in the park, it is 5 mph which I was doing, but I guess it was too slow so they would veere off into the campsites to go around me on the road. Also I was concerned about all the dead branches in the trees over the RV Management did not seems to care to enforce the rules that they themselves have put in place. I didn’t make the rules, but we do follow them. We travel a lot and have stayed at a lot of rv camp grounds and the campers at this camp ground had the worst camping etiquette. Especially the long term folks, they acted like they owned the place. So I think maybe having camp ground monitors may be...
