DD Nail Spa — Local services in La Follette

Writing a bad review is something I don’t do lightly. However my experience at this business left me frustrated and after some thought, I felt like it was needed. I have my nails done enough to know that scheduling an appointment is better than a walk in. I scheduled my appointment for a pedicure using the website which I really like. I booked my appointment at 10:30 and arrived at 10:20. I liked the check in process and I received a ticket with a number on it. The salon was clean and nicely organized. Shortly after I checked in, a customer walked in to schedule a pedicure for 2 and was told to come back at 11:00. A party of 4 walked in after my check in and was walked back immediately. I completely understand that an average wait time with an appointment can run up to 15-20 minutes. However, I waited a total of 56 minutes. The walk-in customer of two who was told to come back at 11:00, came back and waited around 10 minutes and was asked to come back to a chair while I still sat waiting for my original appointment of 10:30. At this point, I decided to leave. It was made clear that appointments didn’t matter, the numerical order of the ticket that was produced at the time of checkout was insignificant and quantity was preferred over a single person who made an appointment. This was my first time trying this nail salon. I went in for a pedicure and a full acrylic set. The acrylic nail full set was not a good experience. The guy doing my nails said the color I picked out was no good, I told him it was fine. He made me bleed at least 4 different places while clipping my cuticles. He was so heavy handed with the electric drill that it burned almost every nail multiple times. When he was using the nail file, he kept scraping the cuticles that were already sore from where he cut them. The shape of the nail is very awkward. They are really angled and not very oval like I asked for. They are crooked and just look horrible. Overall, it was just a bad time. I do also want to add that the next day, my nail beds were still so sensitive that washing my hands in hot water was uncomfortable.

I did the deluxe pedicure, but they were out of the scent I wanted. My second choice of scent was fine. The water was pretty cold. The pedicure itself was fine.

Update: The business manager did reach out to me and offered to fix it himself. I really appreciate accountability and dedication to try and correct...

Everyone was so nice and welcoming here! We came on vacation from Florida and we wanted to spend a Mother’s Day getting our nails done, we looked on google maps and this was the first place to show up and boy were we glad we picked it. There are five ladies in my group and we were worried about making an appointment to take care of all of us the same day we scheduled. Well they happily said yes and took care of all of us. Asked if we wanted any complimentary refreshments, made sure we were all happy and taking care of. 10/10 amazing service honestly I’m sad to go home bc I don’t have any good nail places near me! Lol if I’m ever back in town I’ll definitely be coming...
