Dear Google,
27 July 2018: My 9 year old son cut his toe at 6:30 pm. I called Eastlake urgent care as soon as my cell phone had service at 6:55pm and spoke to the receptionist (possibly nurse?? Either way she was very friendly) and explained I was here from out of town and he needed to be seen. I told her I was approximately 4 miles out and asked if they were willing to see my son and she said they will wait for us to arrive from Whitman Hollow Marina. I arrived at 7:07pm and called the front desk again. No answer but she came and unlocked the front door a moment after and said her provider was unwilling to see him because she had been there for 12 hours already. That would have been nice to know before I wasted my time driving there when I could have potentially made it to another urgent care before they closed.
I understand they closed at 7:00pm but to turn my 9 year old son away (who’s toe is bleeding through paper towels and needing stitches) and after telling me beforehand they would stay doesn’t sit well with me. Trust me, I get that a 12 hour day is not fun. My fiancé is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts and regularly comes home tired...just to do it all again the next day. I also know what long days are as I served in the military for 10 years (medically retired) working around the clock including 2 tours to Afghanistan we went months without a day off in some unfriendly territory.
It’s mind blowing how you can turn away a patient- A 9 year old kid at that- because of a 12 hour day. At that point, I wasn’t going to beg for that person to treat my son.
Thanks for wasting my time Eastlake Urgent Care! I hope you made it home on time to eat your Taco Bell on the couch while watching Family...
Read moreThis was my favorite place to go and I’ve been going for years. I love the old doctor Sandra but after she left seems like it has went down hill to me. I’ve been battling ear problems for months ( Fluid in my middle ear, ear infections, ruptured eardrum) i’ve been going to them roughly 3 1/2 months due to these ongoing problems. Well the last round of antibiotics they gave me wasn’t working. So I called them and asked what can be my next step he said his these things are hard to heal and it just takes time most likely it heal on its own. I was like this is been going on for 3 1/2 months and it’s still getting worse can I be referred to a specialist? He said the doctor would have to do that so I asked when can I see the doctor he couldn’t even tell me when she would be in. I was like okay Sounds to me like I need to find another doctor. Went to another doctor he was like something is going on here he took x-rays and is sending me to an ENT as soon as possible. Just beware if you don’t feel like you’re getting adequate care go somewhere else don’t be...
Read moreWe’ve went to the urgent care for years, but it has recently gone very downhill. My mother was in about two weeks ago for a suspected sinus infection. They gave her an antibiotic and sent her home without really being with her for more than five minutes. I took her back this Sunday because she was vomiting and a severe headache. Did not really examine her, but commented her pulse ox was low, and they sent her home with a nausea med. On Monday, she could not get out of the bed, so I called them back to see what they suggested and they told me she may have a brain aneurysm (which terrifies me) and I should probably take her to the ER. Turns out, she is septic and has had pneumonia probably since she first went in a few weeks ago. This clinic needs to do a better job spending time, listening to their patients and actually giving them a full exam.they should also not tell families that their family member could have a serious condition such as an aneurysm...
