The Local — Restaurant in La Follette

I used to love this place however, over the past couple months the food quality has gone down. The food has gotten extremely inconsistent. I ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings and expected the same yummy plate I have always gotten however the meat was burnt there was no pickle and the onion rings were no longer battered but breaded and were so hard I had difficulty biting into them. We were not informed about the change in product any time it has been changed either or we would have ordered something different. When we called to ask why they were different and if they were getting back the original battered onion rings the staff member who answered was extremely rude and did not care about our experience with them. She stated the menu says onion rings, we get what we get and we like these better anyway in a very rude and condescending manner as if we were in the wrong for asking what was going on. The flavor of their food also was not the same. We have ordered other dishes as well and it is different every time. I’m not sure what happened here as I said it used to be one of my favorite places to eat but due to the inconsistent food quality and the staff member who was completely rude we will not be going back. I know they are struggling needing cooks and help right now but there is no excuse for rudeness and inconsistent...

Great food, not so great waitress

I noticed a lot of reviews are opposite of mine. My experience was bizarre from the beginning. Came here on business and saw overall good reviews so it seemed like the perfect place for lunch. Walked in and it is assumed you are to take a seat anywhere and talk to no one. A sign saying TAKE A SEAT like most places would be helpful. Being friendly and walking up to the counter will likely get you arrested. The entire staff will stop what they are doing as if you intend to steal from their cash register or something.

After taking a seat it appeared quickly they really do mean what they say...LOCAL! If you're an out-of-towner and they don't know you, you'll be treated differently. I'm white as toothpaste and can't imagine what it would be like walking in as anything else. Even I was given the cold shoulder. Short answers, no emotion, and just to the point.

I made the mistake of saying to my robot waitress that my food "looks really good!" as she set it on the table. Her eyes glanced at the burger for a split second as she rolled her eyes in what looked like disgust as she turns and walks away. It was that type of attitude why I couldn't justify a better tip. Again, the food was great but she didn't make it. She served...and that could have been done without...

By far one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Me and my wife went here for lunch one day and had been told my multiple friends it was good, I ordered catfish with baked potato and slaw, my wife got chicken tenders and fries. The cat fish had more grease than fish and 0 seasoning, the tarter sauce they serve is repulsive, I'm 90% sure yhey for some reason was made it with salad dressing instead of mayonnaise. Same for the slaw, the potato felt and tasted like it was days old. Chicken tenders were plain with no seasoning, the ranch was decent but the honey mustard was a mockery to the chicken that died for the tenders. The fries were cold and a iter disappointment much like our waitress who we had to ask for the one drink refill we were able to get in the hour and a half we were there. On top of all the food issues the restaurant its self was filthy. This "restaurant" is a waste of time and money, any gas station with a microwave makes better...
