Spencer's — Local services in Lafayette

Was just there yesterday browsing was around with my brother and his friend. We are regular customers at Spencer's and like to see and buy some items there sometimes or to just look.

I have been going to the tippecanoe mall since I was a kid and never had the issue I had yesterday when visiting stores.... Now as my brother, his friend and I were in Spencer's, we were just looking at their selection and I was going to buy a wallet, BUT... The Manager whom is female had suddenly called in not one but 2 SECURITY GUARDS that asked us to leave the store! :(

We did nothing criminal and were not stealing anything and never have, so it was just really confusing to us... As we got escorted out by the guards we asked why we were asked to leave.... One guard said, " The manager was UNCOMFORTABLE with our presence as a group of 3. "......... I myself am very disappointed in the manager. In fact, all 3 of us are disappointed and offended and feel insulted by the reason we were kicked out over and the escort out over this reason was a bit overkill... I hope to get an apology for this from Spencer's so we can go back in and shop...

I love when I can share a great review! All the employees were really polite and helpful all 3 times I've come in today and the manager was super great about my size exchange! I don't usually frequent the mall because I've had bad experiences in a couple store fronts (especially journey's!) but I'm thinking I may be frequenting again for Spencer's. My husband, the king of I hate shopping, even had a good time and talked up boarderlands with an employee. I can't stress enough how much he hates shopping, he enjoyed himself and was happy and smiling when we left! This does not happen, no matter what I buy for him! I left him in the store because I didn't bring enough cash in and needed my cards out of my real wallet, I fully expected to come back 10 minutes later to a frustrated ball of anger for a husband. Instead I came back to my husband, excited, wanting to run home for more money to come back and spend! This does not happen. The employees talked to him and sold him another $50 over our mall trip budget in boarderlands merch! I'm not even mad and you've got some pretty good...

It's unfortunate that the mall shopping experience is not the same as it was 15 plus years ago. I used to get all my favorite t shirts from Spencers but now they don't carry any of my artists merch in the store. Everything is online now so it's almost pointless going to the mall if you're hoping to find the exact item you want. And since when did they become an adult toy store? The back half of this store is x rated and there are no warning signs that I could see. So before I know it I was surrounded by adult toys and DVDs with my 15 year old son asking me what edible...
