Mardi's Jewelry Design — Local services in Laguna Hills

I took a ring here to get it resized. While the staff was friendly and the shop seemed clean and nice, I was not satisfied by the the job performed resizing my ring.

I actually have two copies of the same ring - both of which I had resized by different jewelers. The first jeweler resized my ring, which has a stamped pattern on the outside, totally seamlessly - so I know that this ring can be resized without ruining any part of it.

However, I have sinced moved, and had another copy of my ring that I wanted resized. I took it to Mardi's after seeing a newspaper ad and the 5-star reviews here. I am completely disappointed with the work that they performed.

They left an enormous crack on the inside of my ring where they cut the ring to resize. While they managed to maintain the ring's outside pattern, the inside of the ring is now ruined. I have to take the ring elsewhere for another costly repair. To their credit - they told me about the seam/crack, and said the repair person wasn't able to fix it. But it seems like a different jeweler was able to do it, so ...?

I reccomend taking your ring resizing business elsewhere - I am frankly surprised that this resizing project served to be too much of a challenge for this business (which specializes in custom jewelry) to repair.

I added some photos so you can see and judge for yourselves, and even considered giving more than one star, since Mardi's did preserve the exterior pattern and they were friendly. But honestly, for a $120 routine ring resizing, one star...

Can I just say how amazing this place is? I have known the family for 20 years since we were business neighbors. I bought my first and only tennis bracelet from them when I was 20 and still go to them 20 years later. Their work is incredible and more importantly the amazing amazing people that are there. Vahan and Maral always have a smile on their face and have ALWAYS been able to fix anything with our jewelry and watches from day 1 with kindness and trust. They are the only jewelry shop I continue to go to even though we no longer have our business in the complex. I trust them with any piece and am so thankful to have them answer any questions I have. I just wore my Michelle watch that Vahan helped replaced the glass covering of and it literally looks like brand new and it’s 15 years old! They also replaced the batteries a few times as well. Mardi's Jewelry Design store is a true class act. I have been here 3 times to have several items repaired, sized, watch batteries, etc. Every interaction has been pleasant. I love how this is a family business. The boys are so kind and respectful. Morel (hope I spelled her name right) is very gracious and kind. I had the pleasure of meeting the jeweler who does my repairs and he is also so kind and informative! I feel assured every time I enter the store and so happy when I leave with my beautiful jewelry.
