Wow what a come back. Mint was my favorite halal Pakistani restaurant and my go to for takeout orders. When it had a fire accident few years back, I was sad. Finally they are back and in the same location just way much better. The restaurant has been set up to given an upscale experience. It is in a strip mall and it just so unexpected to see this trendy vibe in that location. There are plenty of parking spaces. I am glad that I made reservations it was full house. We were asked to wait for few minutes while they set up our table. This could have been done before but its ok. Then when we were seated, our waiter pointed us out the popular dishes and drinks. The seating area is nicely decorated with dark green seats and modern chairs. The ambiance is enhanced with dimmed lights and table lights. One wall is brick with a projection tv. Another wall has a big ethnic wood door. It is a nice combination of modern with ethnic elements.
The appetizers were really different. Samoosa had a rich sauce on top of it and it had the right amount of spices and perfect crispness.
We ordered dal, butter chicken, tandoori chicken and vegetable biryani. All of them well done though butter chicken was too oily and very few pieces of chicken could be found in it. Tandoori chicken was cooked to perfection, the spices were delightful. Naan bread was also good portion with a well balanced dough.
Mocktails were a nice touch to our meal. The flavors were unique and playful.
The dessert we ordered were nicely served and were appealing to the eye but flavors and textures could have been better. Gelato had a rough texture and macaroon was lacking flavors.
Our waiter was very helpful and checked on us several times and explained the dishes.
I am so happy to have Mint back in our neighborhood and will definitely be my to go place when Indian food craving hits.
Oh bathroom is also so clean and nicely...
Read moreI’m so thrilled to share that my favorite Pakistani/Indian restaurant has reopened after being closed for some time, and it’s even better than before! The renovations have completely transformed the place—it's upscale, with a softly dimmed ambiance and mellow lighting that creates a cozy, inviting vibe. The projector showing old Indian songs adds a nostalgic touch and is absolutely aesthetically pleasing.
The bathrooms are beautifully done and spotless, a nice extra touch. Customer service here is top-notch, with the staff greeting you warmly and always wearing a smile, making you feel right at home. Though the space isn't huge, it was packed on a Sunday night, a true testament to its popularity.
As for the food, we ordered a variety of dishes. The chicken karhai was decent but didn’t stand out much. However, the mutton karhai was exceptional—succulent and tender, practically melting in your mouth. The butter chicken was okay, not bad but also nothing spectacular. If you love lamb, the lamb seekh kababs are a must-try—deliciously flavorful! The samosa chaat was a delightful surprise and hit the right spot, with a perfect balance of chutney and yogurt that was simply irresistible.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be back. What’s even better is that the prices are more affordable than places like Khan Sahab, but the quality doesn’t fall short. Highly recommend...
Read moreI have been living around this area for 16 plus year, but I have never got the feeling that at restaurant waiter could bring me an unhygienic utensils as he argued with us as we appeared there to pick up our food 5 to 7 min before he told us over the phone. We decided to eat there but he refused very harshly stating we are an arrogant customer. There is was a huge gap of communication and understanding. He really gave us very bad look and gave me and my friend an empty box when we ask for paper plates so we can sit outside and eat. He gave us one disposable box and asked to tier apart and use it for both of us. I asked him to charge some money and give us another box so we can eat decently. He argued and went inside unhappy to grab the box, that’s where I got the vibes that I never ever got in my whole life from any restaurant that he is going to give us unhygienic box or plates to use. We left the restraint with one box and me and me friend ended up eating in that one box by tearing it apart, which is not a bad thing for us. But having such disrespect and bad vibes from a person who you expect to prepare and give you food is not safe at all. I would never recommend to eat there, as safety and health is first while eating anywhere. Just to clear this is the guy who normally charges your credit card and he refused to share his...
