Off Main St. Vintage Shop — Local services in Lake Elsinore

Owner is rude and the entire store reeks of cat urine.

To preface, my partner is immunocompromised so we both wear masks whenever we go places. We walked in and were immediately met with the smell of old cat urine and mildew. I'll admit, in terms of vintage/antique shops, this isn't out of the ordinary but the smell pierced through our masks and was worse than any other vintage shop I've ever been to and was inescapable. There was an old lady in the entryway of the building wiping down an old table and right as we were walking in, she met us with the most hostile and gross look of disdain. We politely smiled and said "Hello!" and instead of exchanging any pleasantries, said "why are you wearing those?" My partner replied "Oh, we just like being safe" to which the old lady rolled her eyes and replied "You know, you're not actually being safe" with the most condescending tone. I usually take pictures when I go somewhere to add to Google Maps but I didn't this time. The few pictures attached are NOT RECENT. This store is JAM PACKED WITH STUFF, FULL, BURSTING! You will need to stand and pivot slowly to take everything in. Yes, you will have to dig. I found a small rack of clothing in the back with size 3X clothes on it, THAT NEVER HAPPENS!! Tons of things to look at! There is no air conditioning but many, many fans. I was there on 7/12/21 and it was 90*F outside. Wow! What a cozy antique and novelty shop! I was blown away by the incredible amount of amazing items and curios.

Shelves and shelves full of one of a kind and rare items. I spoke with Marian and she was just a sweetheart.

So many things to look at and take in. It’s was my first time going in after driving by so many times before, and I’m so glad I did. It’s going to take a few more visits to look at all the goodies!
