Boot Barn — Local services in Lake Forest

I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with a specific store that I felt the need to write a negative review but this Boot Barn in Lake Forest has the worst retail service I've ever seen. Management(an older man and a younger blonde woman) both times has been extremely irritable, condescending, unfriendly, and ultimately unhelpful. Once, I got to the store at 5:03 pm on a Sunday because I got off work a little early and rushed over to exchange a pair of unworn boots for an identical pair with a larger size, and the woman came over as I was coming in and told me she had already started closing and it was against her policy to let me in. Mind you they were not closed already, she basically kicked me out of the store because she wanted to leave at exactly 5 and was extremely unfriendly and rude about it. The other time I had an encounter with them was when I tried to exchange my brother's boots, unworn, for a larger size and was told that without a receipt or tags they wouldn't do it. He then proceeded to huff and puff about all the data he had to ask me about so he could look me up, like my telephone number... Ultimately I swapped them at different Boot Barn but will avoid this one at all costs and urge all others to...

I went in today, August 2 2021 mid afternoon to do some some looking around. I’ve never been to this Lake Forest location. I was wearing a backpack because I was on a long bike ride. After selecting some merchandise and still looking, never having removed my backpack or gone into the changing room, a male store employee asked if he could take my choices, and backpack up to the front before I entered the changing room. I gave him my backpack and one item, and tried the rest on in the changing room. After I was finished, I went up to the register to purchase all of the items I had selected, 150.00 dollars worth. The little man was nowhere to be seen, and a female employee rang me up. After I purchased the items I asked for my backpack, which was on the floor behind the counter. When the woman gave it to me, I noticed it had been zipped wide open and rummaged through.That little worm male employee had opened and searched it without my permission. He violated my rights to satisfy his suspicions, and I left without making a fuss but it has bothered me all day. I will never again make a purchase from this Lake Forest location, and that pathetic little man gets a huge F for...

Everytime I walk into this location, I am never greeted or asked if I need anything or have questions. I am Hispanic . I have lived in this area for the past 20 years. Never have I experienced this customer service except for here. Nor do I like to use the discrimination card ever because I have white friends and I think they are great. But here at this location I feel it. The 2 ladies that were at the front desk didn’t even acknowledge me and they knew I was there. Other customers walked in and were greeted and yes they were white . So I past them as they greeted someone else who approached them and the you get gal turned around as I came by and I was loud enough to say hi to here she did reply and just in a low tone say hi.. unbelievable!! You all Act privileged and talk to people in a demeanor...
