This place, while good in its own way, was rather unimpressive by De-Anda standards... Those of you who frequent other Taqueria de anda locations will probably know exactly what I mean by this, but for those of you who do not, I invite you to please try out the other locations and share your thoughts.
I stop in at one of the other taqueria locations in Fullerton, Garden Grove, Placentia, Santa-ana, and Orange/Tustin probably once a week. So, naturally I was thrilled to find out that a new location was opening up because I fancy myself somewhat of a Mexican food connoisseur.
That being said, this location seemed to somewhat miss the mark, at least for me. The flavor profiles of the rice and beans seemed a little less bold than I would have expected, the carnitas didn't have that slightly charred, almost crisp texture, and the portions of protein didn't quite leave me with the satisfied sensation that I have come to expect with my other De Anda visits.
But it is a taqueria, and it is further south, so I'll probably be back to try...
Read moreI hate leaving one star reviews, especially for local businesses. My group and I were happy to find this place open for some late dinner! Friends ordered tacos and seemed happy with them. For health reasons, I am limited to just meat and dairy. I ordered a side of Birria and one of the guys asked me if the price was okay. I repeated the price back to him, I heard $29, which is very pricey but I was hungry and didn't really have another option. I got to the cash register after the food had been packaged and everything and to my absolute shock, the price I was charged was $59..... $59 for a container of meat. And it wasn't even real Birria. The stew part came separately. I was already pretty irritated, but when I went up to the cash register to ask for a fork, I became upset when I was waiting behind a lady that got a bowl almost the same size as me with meat, cheese, and guacamole that only cost $20.20. Why wasn't this suggested to me instead? I feel very stupid and taken...
Read moreI've been coming here since they opened. I went in today, asked the taquero for 3 burritos, every time I come I ask that he put lime, and salt. In which they gladly do. This time some cashier, Moy Santiago falsifying Health Department Rules and Regulation states they can't do that. I have 17 Locations with Health Permits, and none of them have ever stated they can't apply lime, or salt to burritos? This is an amazing Taqueria, one of the best in the Taquerias de Anda that they have! Even though pricier than the rest of the Taquerías they have, it’s worth it! Sad to see an employee just destroy it this way. The Owners need to do something quick. The other cashier who regularly sees me come in about 1-2 a week rectified the issue, apologized, and refunded me for 2 burritos. It's a matter of principle. This is a great Taqueria de Anda, Moy Santiago needs to get retrained or fired! He always has horrible attitude, and...
