My family and I had to evacuate due to the fire. I knew of this hotel from previous stays from years ago. This used to be a decent and cheap local hotel. However, the current ownership has allowed the facility to deteriorate.
A lot of the sliding screen doors seem to come off the rails (our room was not the exception), there was food and debris under both beds, my husband's and my bed didn't even fit properly on the bed frame and squeaked like it was about to break. One of the armed chairs was almost broken as well. The bathroom tub was littered with debris. As we were packing to leave we found a beetle type bug crawling on my son's shoe by the suitcase rack and all of our bags.
They also seem to have a faulty fire alarm system. Over the course of 2 days in the hotel the alarm went off 4 different times for various amounts of times with several intervals.
The room and entire facility in itself did not seem to be well maintained. Not to mention the Covid restrictions put into place for all open businesses, this place does not strike me as a place up to code on that aspect. I do understand the limitations on such a small local hotel, but still there has to be some type of increased sanitization put into the entire building. It was pretty gross. Naturally, we already disinfect and wipe down all surfaces that we come into contact with inside our room, so we were not too concerned. I did however have to wipe down things several times because they were so black and still making the wipes black.
I would just say that this place is a bit pricey now for what it has to offer. There is not even basic cable or any local news available. There was only maybe 15 channels available and not one was a local broadcast. There was a fridge, no freezer, a microwave and hair dryer. There is WIFI. There is no bat tub plug, but again wouldn't recommend taking a bath unless you clean the tub yourself before. Only 2 sets of towels available, there were 3 of us in the room. The room phone did not work. There is also no breakfast available. Only prepackaged raisin danishes, only if you ask at the front desk. You may have to ask two different people. One man at the front will say no every time. There was also confusion with my reservation and my sister-in-law's reservation (due to same last name) and there was a whole debacle there. The front desk at that time was very unhelpful and confused.
This was under an emergency situation and they were filled to capacity so they were probably overwhelmed. But, there were far too many down falls for this place to be so expensive, especially in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've just started my first night of a 2 night stay (possibly will extend to 3 or 4 nights) I was a Little š BUMMED, the lobby is clearly undergoing renovation, half of it is separated by plastic sheeting. I enjoy doing reviews for Google as a Local Guide, so I try to focus on the positive things. From the first floor lobby, a half a dozen rooms on the 2nd floor are visible. We were put in 201, š± directly above the construction. We checked in at 1am, and it's now 10am and we have yet to experience any noise š , nor disruption from this obviously ongoing remodel/repair work.
I'm hoping we don't have to be disrupted by anything like this, as we both live locally, but work very hard as live in Caretakers ... Getting a room on our own is necessary for our peace of mind and if something happens, it can ruin our entire month.
Not to mention it's my fiance's birthday tomorrow and I'd like to celebrate without any issues But so far so good... They had no problem checking us in Late and understood the rules of no charge for a registered service animal, although they ARE pet friendly and the additional pet fee is around $35 for those of you who have pets ... I called ahead and told them we couldn't get there til after midnight... No problem, they said... A family member used their Choice Hotel points to book this reservation and ahead of time asked to put the incidentals/deposit on his Credit Card, even though he would not be present.... They emailed him a simple form to fill out with copies of the credit card and his ID. I like that they would only send this to the choice hotel members registered email address to protect from fraud. When I checked in, they DID ask me for a credit card, however I Pointed out one was sent, and he said he received this and had printed copies of š³ CC and š , and they did, ultimately use that card and did not require me to give an additional card. The rooms seem to all or most have an accessable balcony. The chair in our room had some minor tears in it, plus a dozen or so dead insect š carcasses on the balcony š¤¢gross, but other than that room is nicely kept. Large bathroom, good š„ hot water and good water pressureš¦
I'll update this review at the š...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCustomer service is disastrous, catastrophic. Receptionist uses the rudest way to answer the phone I have ever heard; just a short annoyed hello, with no identification of himself or the hotel. When you ask "where are you answering from" he goes "what do you want". Turns out I was calling to find out if I could check out one hour earlier, but he kept answering "at 3pm" more and more annoyed by the minute. When I showed up at 2:45pm I mentioned I had a reservation and he just imperiously asked: "last name". then he said: "I don't have a room for you yet, I told you 3pm over the phone"; it was the same attendant. I sat in the lobby to wait those 15 min, and 15 min after I heard my last name loudly called, no Mr. only the last name, like boot camp. with the same voice tone he said: "ID and credit card" (no please or friendly tone whatsoever). Moments later he asks me to answer yes to the charges in the credit card terminal. That terminal was not showing anything but yes and no. I wanted to know what I was saying yes to, and refused to click yes until i was informed. Shortly after he and another attendant decide to call the manager. With a scared attitude the guy softly knocks on a door behind the counter repeating to the person behind "sorry, sorry" apparently she asks (without opening the door) what was he calling her for, and he, very scared said "a customer needs you" he also explained my concern about the terminal. She tells the guy to tell me to go somewhere else. Then she comes out yelling "I can never eat lunch in peace, I swear, I'm never bringing lunch from home again". Then she tells me I don't feel comfortable clicking yes that way, they would not register me, and I should go somewhere else. I said I'm not in the use signing or agreeing blindly to something that could go from a million dollars to my first born. And she said again: then go somewhere else, and let finish my lunch. Is 3pm (check in time) the best choice to go to lunch? Is that the way to respond to a customer? Never again to this place or any other from the...
