I don't know when Michael's changed their customer service to basically non existant, but they will not help you check out. You have to do it yourself unless you're paying with cash. I asked for a bag and they will not give you one. You have to buy one of their Michael's brand bags if you want a bag. It's not just the usual plastic bag tax. Just give me the bag when I ask for one and charge me the 10 cents or whatever, I don't care. But using your bags as a selling point just adds to how obnoxious the self checkout is.
Also one of your employees came over to single me out and yell at me because I took an item out of a box to inspect it and make sure it wasn't damaged before buying it. I didn't break open a seal or cause any harm to the product when doing so. Your products are made overseas and then you jack up the price. I have a right to make sure I'm buying something that is intact and not damaged in shipping. I felt very embarrassed and that this interaction was unnecessary. What do you think I'm gonna steal a huge item that won't fit in my purse?
You took the human element out of shopping at a store that is about creativity and crafting and you made it cold and sterile and uninviting. I...
Read moreSome employees need to brush up on on customer service! If you find it necessary to roll your eyes at customers to other employees in front of the customer for no reason other than your having a bad day then you’re in the wrong profession. If you find it necessary to argue with customers over your disrespectful nature when your caught rolling your eyes and making fun of customers by the customer your in the wrong profession!!! There’s no reason to get rude and defensive if you weren’t doing anything wrong, there’s no need to to treat people with disrespect other than to make yourself feel better. You’re a cashier, you shouldn’t be rolling your eyes at anyone period!!!! The next time you’re having a bad day - take the day off & stop taking it out on customers. Because frankly you and the manager should both be dismissed & the young lady that came up should be the manager!! I’ve been doing private reviews for companies of employees and products for awhile now and this is by far one of the worst experiences. It’s amazing what you experience when you’re...
Read moreMy husband and I were in the store on the second day it was open. The store looks nice, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The clerk nearly ran me down in one of the aisles and I said "Oh ... you scared me!" as she nearly ran into me. She never said one word of apology, laughed and just kept on walking. When we got to checkout, this same clerk, unfortunately, waited on us. She also had purple hair - which is how I knew it was the same one from earlier. She then refused to take my 40% off coupon (said it didn't apply to books), and when we were leaving, she handed us our receipt and stood there a minute with a blank stare - and never said thank you. I was going to have some custom framing done here - but after this experience - I will go to Ben Franklin in Monroe. For a brand-new store 2 days old, you really need to work on customer service training! "Thank you" are two little words that...
