Gyro Stop — Restaurant in Lake Stevens

Absolutely the most rude workers of any food establishment I’ve ever been to. Two years ago when we first moved here I visited this place and a worker was very rude to us; he threw meat on the pita, kept tssk’ing at us and just gave us a very bad attitude. Because of that experience I rarely used to come here and we would eat here every once every few months opting to drive to one of the 20+ other gyro places around. Recently my sons ages 10 & 12 learned about the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet and started asking me to get gyros more often. The last 3-4 visits it looked like their customer service had improved, however today, we had a repeat of our experience from two years ago, with another worker throwing meat and vegetables down on the pitas and platter; he purposely spoke no words and gave me blank stares like he was going to come over the counter and sucker punch me. I had a simple order but apparently we must have upset him somehow by just giving him our order. He purposefully put very little meat in the platters compared to how much they usually put and he also didn’t get the fries ready and then he took the complimentary sauce cups for the platters out of their bin only at my request and then instead of putting them in our bag he made sure to not put them in there. Once we reached home and found the sauces were missing I drove all the way back and the other not so rude worker on the team already knew they hadn’t given us the sauces… he just simply said “we’ll give them to you now”. I try to teach my kids about seeing the good in people and the world but it is very hard to explain this blatant display of disscontempt and hatred towards us to my 12 & 10 year old. Place has really gone downhill. Been a favorite since they opened. When the first opened the counter folks were friendly and the portions fair. Almost never had an issue with our orders. Sometimes, they would forget something on the order but not often.

Lately, the place has slid downhill. When my wife would pick up instead of me the portions were always less than when I went in.

Even now, each time I go there I am less impressed. Yesterday, I ordered my favorite Beef and Lamb Gryo plate. One thing that has begun to irritate me is they put less and less hummus on the plate. Yesterday, there didn't seem to be any so I actually asked if they put some in. The counter person seemed offended and said he did. I took his word for it and when I got it home there was barely enough to cover the bottom of one of the small sections on the plastic tray.

If this were the only complaint I would find it petty but the meat portions seems to get smaller while the add more rice to make it look fuller. If they don't forget the (normally ordered) extra pita they burn it like they did yesterday. They normally get the Greek Salad right but that's pretty hard to screw up.

I won't be going back anytime soon. I hate to 'un recommend' them but they don't provide the same value that they used to when the first manager was there. Other Gryo Stops are more in line with what my initial impressions were of the Lake Stevens restaurant so I have to think this is a local issue more than a Gyro Stop issue.

This was our first time going to this place and saw that it had pretty high ratings so was looking forward to it. It was pretty busy and very hot in there. We ordered and watched as they were putting the food together and saw that she was trying to quickly dump things together, so while the containers needed to be refilled she was just scraping the little bit left into the orders. We had to move out of the way for other people to order, and soon after we were told our order was ready even though a couple of people ahead of us were still waiting. We paid and left. Came home, which was a far drive only to find that we had not gotten what we ordered. And the chicken that was in the one plate was super dry and other things in there were lacking, looking half empty. We called to let them know we got the wrong order and when I spoke to the young lady, she didn't know what to say and passed the phone off, I repeated what happened and the young man tried to ask if we would come back then to pick up the order and I let him know that wasn't possible as we lived somewhat far away. I had him take our name to hold so the next time we came in they could make it right. We haven't...
