Jose The manager has no time to deal with unhappy customer !

Ixtapa Restaurant at 303 91st Ave NE in Lake Stevens,Wa. I'm putting the address down so people know where this " Place " is and to avoid it at all cost !!!,why well I am writing this only an hour after leaving, The family and I went for a early father's Day dinner and it was very slow so one would think " Oh great service should be great tonite " WRONG !!! we were a party of four plus one baby,Our waiter who I am sorry I didn't get his name needs to go back to the deep sink, I had ordered the Burrito and made sure I told him twice " Nothing on it please,place it on the side " As we awaited our food he brings over the condiment trays and one leg on one tray gets dipped into the sour cream he pulls it out and places it on the table without a care in the world, we all look at each like " What " so I removed the small bowl with the sour cream and needless to say no one used it, Our orders comes and what do I get my burrito covered in salsa !!!! I am holding my grandson so the others may eat not once did our waiter come over and ask if there was something wrong,He did fill my water glass and then placed it in a dish with sour cream on it. Dinner is now over and now he ask me if there is something wrong !!! I told him I wanted my Burrito plan and I get it covered in salsa,I ask not ot be billed for it, He tells me he must speak with a manager ok I'll wait he comes back and states " They is no manager here so you must pay for it. At this point I just wanted to leave, I payed the bill and we left,After the ride home I call up Ixtapa and ask to speak to a manger and low and behold there is one there his name is Jose,I tell Jose what happen and he did remember us, So I told him what happen and all I get was " Well you left I can't do anything " All I wanted was for Jose to do is listen !! Didn't ask for a thing just listen and make sure he talk's to the waiter so it would not happen again, Jose just kept talking over me and by this point I saw it was going no where, Then Jose said the one thing no customer happy or not wants to hear " I've been talking to you for 15 mins, I don't have anymore time for this " maybe I was wrong but I told him find you don't have time for me maybe you'll have time to read my review !! and then I said good by and hung up. As the say one happy customer will tell about three or four people, One unhappy customer will everyone he or she can find and who is willing to listen. If Jose is the type of manager the owner's leave in charge and this is the way Jose treat's there customers do they the owners really know what's going on or for that matter even care ? I for one will be calling up and hope to do a follow up Because this is really rubbing me the wrong way, So in short I cannot even say the things I would like to but next time I want Mexican food I'll be going...

I live in Lake Stevens and have been coming here for 5-6 years. The food has always been Good..or maybe a little better than average but there have been meals that are just plain crap...more and more of them lately. I spread my dining money around to other places like Luca's Italian, the noodle shop by Albertson's, the teriyaki place downtown and other places in Everett and Marysville like Blazing Onion and RAM.

OK back to Ixtapa. Tonight I had their 'Daily Special' in the bar and it was totally out of a can. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a buffet cart in the kitchen with the meat, beans, rice, and tortillas on warmers where they just pull a hot plate from the oven and slap the food on your plate and out it goes. It certainly was not fresh cooked because it arrived before I hear the whoosh from the waitress rushing away to get our food. Almost like one of those fast-forward cartoons...whoosh she is gone and zap there she is back again.

Anyway the meat was totally cooked way earlier today and warmed over, the corn was from a can, the tortillas were stale and the only fresh item was the chopped onions on top. That was what I got for $13!! The difference between the bar special we got a few weeks ago which was 2 tacos for $5 was the $8 extra we paid for one scoop of beans and 1 scoop of rice. Besides the bar tacos tasted way better...way better.

I told the waitress the meal was bad, not worth the $12.95 and she asked me if I wanted anything else. Duh..hello..I just got ripped off for $13 on one bad meal and she wanted me to buy something more. Naw...I'll pass. No one came to even attempt to make it right or ask me what was wrong..nothing..zip.

Ok so I will add Ixtapa to the list along with Bob Burgers as two more places I will never set foot in. Bad food + bad service + I don't care management = I'm gone forever!

I think those who rate this 5 star either are paid to rate this high or have no idea what fresh cooked and expertly seasoned Mexican food tastes like. This is buffet...

This was my third time eating here and I honestly shouldn't have came back a second time.

The food is...well, it's just alright. Nothing special about it. What is not alright is the menu prices. A three enchilada plate should NOT cost $21. I know food costs are up everywhere but for the quality you get here it's hard to justify their pricing. And honestly, I would rate the restaurant a tad higher if their prices accurately reflected the quality of food they provide.

The chips were burnt and borderline stale. Like they've been sitting in their warmer for hours on end. The salsa was decent though but just not as spicy as I would have preferred.

I ordered a Cadillac margarita and it was the worst margarita I have ever tasted. For reference, I would take a few dollaritas from Applebee's before I order another from here. The margarita came out about 30 seconds after it was ordered which leads me to believe that it's pre-mixed and sitting in a pitcher somewhere. The drink itself was sour and really salty and definitely some floor shelf tequila. Again with the pricing, I paid $17 for that pre-mixed margarita. I would have expected something with fresh ingredients for that price.

The only plus side of this restaurant is their staff. They are really friendly, attentive, and provided quick service. I really wish their food quality matched the high quality of...
